My Xperia Z2 calendar data is lost after Android 5.0.2 update, how can I get it back?

xperia z2 calendar data lost after android 5.0.2 update

All my other data seems to have been restored, all contacts, all Wi-Fi networks etc but I now have a blank calendar with no events on it. I can log into google calendar on my pc and all the data is still there. How do I get this data restored to the phone. the calendar is I believe the stock app, no name other than version 20.0.A.2.5

Welcome to Android Central! Go to Settings>Accounts-Google>[your Google account]​, and make sure Calendar is checked on. In the Calendar app, make sure you've selected the proper calendar to display.

Almost same problem with Xperia Z1 (C6943). After having updated to Android 5.0.2 the stock app Calendar v20.0.2.5 does not allow to set events with repetition (only unique events are allowed).
I went to Settings>Accounts-Google>[my Google account] and Calendar was checked on.
Please let me know if you could fix it.
