N7 Gear VR review/ questions...

There is a warning in the booklet stating that pregnant women should not use it. Should I be concern with that? Any thoughts? I want my wife to try it out and she's pregnant...

Also does using a screen protector on the phone worsen the visual or it doesn't matter?

Thanks!

Just got my VR today. So far, so good. We watched the Invasion video and really enjoyed it.

I'm a guy so I can't really answer about being pregnant.:'( But if you're just going to watch moderate stuff where your reflexes don't require you to be scared or make sudden movements or what not I don't see why. I may be wrong. There's other things you can do with the VR. You can watch 360 photos, watch your photos in Samsung Gallery like you've never seen before, watch videos, watch Netflix in a 'giant screen' and so forth.
I have a screen protector and it seems okay. Just make sure wipe it down or clean it to avoid seeing spots.

I finally broke down and opened the box. I didn't think I would use it much and would sell it off. It was a cool experience. Something I don't see myself using that often, but i'll pull it out of the gadget pile every now and then. Watching Sisters was a little weird horror experience.

Watching Hulu on that huge screen, sitting on the couch inside a decked out crib is fabulous.... Also having the ability to change the scenery outside the windows is a plus. Not to mention changing to the movie theater scenery, looks pretty darn real, in a virtual way....

I would think this is more or of a warning able getting sick. I bet its more of a concern about long term unbalance after the viewing period.

Here is where I am. I have meniere's desease. Which is an inner ear disorder causing vertigo for no reason, among other things. So I should be the last person to put this headset on if dizzy or unbalance is an issue. I of course didn't heed that warning. For most of the content I am fine within reason. All the viewing apps are great. So when you put the headset on you are in a room and can look all around and see things. For me that is no issue. The Avengers clip, the jurassic clip, all awesome.

Where the rubber meets the road for me its the motion. If you combine the viewing with any motion I get instant room rocking dizziness. So for example I played the Zombie game where you are in a drone shooting zombies on the ground. The drone is moving very slowly, mostly you are just looking around and shooting. This game got to me after 10 minutes. When I watched the samsung 360 demo, which starts with viewing, at some point you are start following a skateboard guy and I had to yank the headset off.

Thats just me, but I cant see why else it may harm a pregnant woman. ALL PREGNANT MEN ABSOLUTELY SHOULD NOT USE THIS.

I received my Gear VR and it has never recognized that my N7 is hooked up to it. So disappointing :(

Make sure lock screen is set to off or at least a few minutes to make sure you get it in before locking. Also make sure you get it clicked in and switch the lock from unlocked to locked. This will let the phone know its in the vr and wont switch back to the lock screen.

I got mine yesterday and set it up. I watched a few of the free things while sitting on the moon, lol.

definitely cool stuff. With my health issues, i use it before bed, in case it causes motion sickness. I still avoid the stuff I know will loop me. Last night I downloaded sideloadvr and found a My Little Pony App for my illegal daughter (she is 6 and well below the 13 or older). not sure about other stuff but so far even with limited apps/content it has been nice. I know more is to come.

From the manual, "WARNING! This product contains chemicals known to the state of California to cause cancer, birth defects, or other reproductive harm." It also mentions if want to use please consult doctor before using. I know it might not be anything, but just being extra careful...

I tried my VR last night and tried to use the Samsung Internet App. It prompted me to Allow 1 of 3 things, however, it would not respond to my click commands when i am pointing/looking at the allow button. So i tried deny, same results. I tried multiple times with same results.

Anyone else experience this problem and if so, how to fix it so i can get past that?

Just got mine and the videos are kinda jerky. I like it though. Phone went up to 97 degrees.
Edit:
I restarted phone and let cool down and video of my great grand kids was smooth. I hardly ever restart phone, guess I will start now. Having fun.

I didn't try any games, but the Hulu and Netflix experiences were pretty cool. However, I can't think of any scenario where I'd use the VR to watch a movie when I've got at least three superior viewing options (TV, tablet, desktop). The picture quality just isn't there (screen door effect, artifacting) and the edges around the virtual screens are blurry when I'm looking at the center of the screen. The sense of immersion is really cool (God, I want to put my feet up on that coffee table in the Netflix app :) ), and coming back to the 'real world' after using the VR for 30 min or so was actually kind of jarring.

I just submit my offer for vr. Hopefully they don't have trouble sending me it like they are the dang sd card
