N8 is a Home Run

Loving it long time even it was more than 20 dollars :-)
Wonder what the hell they come out with next that could possibly make the note 8 look/feel dated

This is the first Note phone I've had and only the second Samsung. Can't see me ever wanting to go elsewhere now.

my second note phone after note 2 ... really loving it though I bought all generation Samsung s series and iPhone from 1 to 8. I feel this is up there in my top two really like iPhone 4 when it came and pixel phone. But now that I am used to big screen of note 8 nothing looks better.

I would like to see Samsung produce a foldable Note. I saw some concepts on YouTube. If Samsung makes that, I would be in heaven.

Read my mind about the foldable Note. That's the concept I'm waiting on next. That would be epic. No need for a tablet anymore with that lol. But I must say I've been seriously neglecting my iPad mini 4 because of this awesome Note 8. I only use it to watch my tv shows now.

Yeah I have been enjoying this phone after being a mostly iPhone user. It runs buttery smooth, stays cool and the battery life has been iPhone-ish in quality. I like having the google and bixby assistants despite a few hiccups with them from time to time, at least I have the options to use them. There are a gazillion ways to unlock the phone it makes me laugh to hear Apple fawning over their face recognition feature like it's all that. With the added screen size of this beast I can leave my la la land dreams about getting an iPad on the cutting room floor.

Over the past several years I've owned the iPhone 6+, 6s+ and 7+. I've also owned a Note 4, Note 5 and S8+. After having my N8 for a few weeks I have come to the conclusion that it is the best phone I've ever owned and I've owned ALOT of phones. Samsung really out did themselves.

It absolutely is a home run. For $950, you get the best display on a smartphone, 6GB of RAM, wireless charging, Samsung Pay, IR/face scanner, and the awesome stylus.

The only negative about the phone is the curved display.

Absolutely agreed! 😁

Loving this beast!

Yes it is and yes they did.

The Note 8 definitely acts and feels better than any of the above which I've also owned excepting the GS8. With Samsung incentives the N8 can be less expensive than either the Pixel2 XL, the G8 plus and the IP8 plus.

When GS8 plus owners I know handle the Note8 side by side with their GS8 plus they usually comment they should have bought the Note8.

The most common comment? GS8 plus owners like the solid feel, and how the N8's screen tapers off more gently than the GS8 plus.

The Note8 also makes more sense than it's coming competition. The LG V30 and Pixel 2 XL both have Displays with weird issues, and the Mate10 is coming in the diluted Pro variant in some countries.

"The only negative about the phone is the curved display"; why do you think that?

It's hard to protect the edges. I had to return mine because the curved display got scratched because the screen protector didn't reach it (it was a "case friendly" screen protector from Zagg).

I love the phone, specifically the camera and the screen. Battery life has been good too. But I wouldn't say it's a home run. For example, the speaker/speakerphone is terrible compared with my previous phone, the BB Passport. You'd think a $1k+ phone would have a much better speaker.

I agree, the speaker isn't the greatest, but it has so many features that make me forget about it :)

I had a white Passport for a few weeks recently. What a cool phone!! Too bad BB10 is dying a slow death along with WM10.

I have an aging MXPE that I'm trying to find a replacement for. Haven't chose it's successor yet.

One of my truck driver's called dispatch and handed me his phone (Note 8) and the call clarity was fantastic. I couldn't believe how crystal clear it was vs my Moto X. Definitely a plus for the Note 8.

Having owned my Note8 for a month now I have no regrets leaving the iPhone ecosystem. I’ve been transitioning from my iPhone 6s Plus in making my Note8 my daily driver. The next step is parting with my Apple Watch as I pick up my Samsung Gear S3 from Best Buy today!

Were it not for the misfortune surrounding the Note 7 I would’ve been on board a year ago which was why I bought the iPhone 6s Plus with a promise that I’d buy the next Galaxy Note. My patience paid off and Samsung didn’t let me down! I still laugh about my buying an AT&T Note8 and returning it the next day, I didn’t give Android a chance. After returning it I was missing the Note8 all week, reading your encouraging, enthusiastic posts and positive reviews on AC. The following weekend I picked up the Unlocked version, swapped the SIM card from my iPhone 6s+! Afterward I felt like that wide-eyed little kid on Christmas morning who found one of the coolest toys under the Christmas tree!!!

I thought the battery capacity would leave me discouraged, but for my daily use and screen-on/media intense activity I still get a satisfactory amount where I’m not desperate to plug my Note8 into an AC outlet at the end of the day or the following morning.

Thanks to the Launcher Apps and the creative genius of an App developer I get to make my Note8 look like a JJ Abrams Star Trek-themed smartphone, something that Apple failed to provide me with on top of their ditching the headphone jack. Nice to have a smartphone I can personalize with even greater flexibility!

Having an Android phone is not without its trade offs having been part of the iPhone ecosystem for 9 years. Yet I’ve been experiencing more positive trade offs and confident I picked a damn good piece of kit with just as much capability and activity I’d been used to with an iPhone.

It’s a privilege to be a happy Note8 user with everyone here at AC! Enjoy!!!

I love the note 8, no complaints, I even love Bixby, the fingerprint sensor location and the heft of the device. All of those things are typically complained about but my take is, Bixby is very useful if you put in time with the system, the fingerprint location is actually natural when your holding your phone with your right hand your pointer finger rest right on it, and the weight and size of the phone is reassuring of the quality materials used and the beautiful big screen packed into as small of a body that's currently available. Great overall phone, just need a fully wrapped (even the black top and bottom bezels on the screen) coral blue model with rose gold metal sides. lol
