Naked or Encased?

That's the case I have and it's awesome. I love it. Doesn't add much bulk, and is super high gloss. Looks brilliant and all the holes are cut perfectly. Looks good in white too.

I have the verizon slide in holster. Works great. I don't use screen protectors and have not had any scratches. The gorilla glass seems to work well.

Just tried the Buy 2, Get 1 deal on Amazon to test out the case, and it didn't work. I think its because one of the cases I want is sold through Amazon and the other two are straight through Cruzer Lite's storefront. Kind of annoying. Oh well. Its a sign that I shall go caseless...FOREVER!!

Naked?????!!.. With all that protection, kevlar gorila glass and waterproof technology I seriously doubt you need a case at all.

Kevlar is woven fibers and its strength is in the tensile direction, and even then works best with multiple layers, not one thin sheet. Gorilla glass is "scratch resistant", under the right circumstances it can still scratch and it can still crack & shatter. The screen below the gorilla glass is still susceptible to cracking and shattering if dropped. And it's not "waterproof" just "splash resistant", if you spill a glass of water on it you can probably save it, but if you submerge it in water and it has the same chances as any other phone.

Not saying everyone has to have a case, but definitely don't build up a false sense of security. Most of the "toughness" is marketing, you still need to take care of it like you would any other phone.

Oh, I'm definitely not under a false sense of protection with the phone. I still take care of it and baby it (even 'protect' the screen from my jean rivets when putting it in and taking it out of my pockets). But, all of the 'extras' with it do offer some sense of protection. My main concern is a drop shattering the screen, so that's why I still once-in-a-while debate getting a case. But, even a case isn't a 100% protection against screen shatter. It does help by adding a shock absorber, but that doesn't mean it can't happen if hit in the right spot. Especially true since I wouldn't get a massive OtterBox black-rectangle case anyway.

Yeah, I'm not speaking to you specifically. It's just that some people get mystified by all the marketing talk and forget that, case or no case, you still have to take care of this $650 piece of equipment.

The shattering is definitely my biggest fear too, especially after reading some of the stories the Razr guys had initially. I will say though, you should give the otterbox commuter a try. I have it and it really is nowhere near as massive as people think. I love it on my phone, and I'm definitely a person who doesnt like cases.
