Nation wide 4g outage!!!!!

I got onto Verizonwireless website and clicked on contact us to access live online chat..... I tols them my problem and that I knew it was widespread and asked for a credit... the girl was very nice about it and said they will credit me $4 according to my plan and to expect the network back up sometime today (FWIW).

3G is also out for most TB users, yes... because the TB handles 3G differently for the whole simultaneous voice/data thing. If you use the ##778# fix floating around in a few of the other threads you can get back to 3G WITHOUT simultaneous voice/data until it's fixed.

nope.
even if you tap the 'cdma auto', you still need to mod the phone modem to switch from EHRPD (or whatever) to strictly REV A

eHRPD is the enhanced voice/data network that allows 3g to do web/talk at the same time.
it is unable to be used (along with LTE)

so REV A must be used.

I'm a bit relieved. I have used a TON of data on my Thunderbolt since I got it almost a month ago. I thought VZW cut me off last month due to my extremely high usage. So I am not the only one with the data outage...

Heres the truth.

Verizons trusty software engineers were attemping to update the MyVerizon app to work on the thunderbolt. They were almost done then a zero ended up where a one should have been and everything went to hell.

Okay maybe thats not the truth , but i like to think it is.

I was wondering all day wtf was going on and I did not have time to deal with it. Funny they say 1 pm...mine went out about 5:30 am pst and I could not even get 3G until about an hour ago, which I thought was odd.

I have been on the 1x network since lastnight and live in a strong 4g area in nyc. I have an app where i can switch to either 4g only, 3g only, or 4g n 3g together. But when i switch to 3g its still showning me my 1x network..smdh....hope they fix this problem asap!!! Between this and my ps3 not in service i tell you the price and patient I have for technology is unbelievable...

Interesting, I thought I paid $250 on a 2year contract for THE ONLY PHONE CURRENTLY able to run on the VERIZON 4G NETWORK......call me crazy, but I have not seen any phone sold for that much on a two year contract.....that has the capabilities that this phone has.....must have fell and bumped my head....Thanks for clearing that up for me...

Not talking about the price for the data, but the tool that actually uses that data at advertised speeds.....if it is not cosidered premium, why did you waste your money on a 4G phone, you were spending exactly the same amount prior to 4G being rolled out right??? Just some food for thought....

No phone can currently run on the Verizon 4G network.

Actually since being on 1x, my GPS has never worked better. Locks on in less that 10 seconds...that's never happened when I'm running on the new hybrid network.

i'm also in the ny/nj area, been on 1x all day..been able to do everything i could on 4g, except i guess slower than usual..

used gps today without a hitch (navigation and on endomondo workout tracker)..been able to use all my apps too without much problems to be honest
