Navigation bar or gestures?

Gestures. I'm so used to them that the nav bar now messes me up because my first instinct is to swipe.

Gestures are great until someone needs to borrow my phone and then it's difficult to explain how to move around. I go back and forth between gestures and nav bar, mostly gestures though.

I was using gestures then I switched back I may try them again. I can't get used to them I'm so used to the normal way.

Gestures with hints allows mimicking the double tap of the Recents key by swiping from Home to Recents. That's a must for me. Otherwise I'd be G - H all the way!

That's how I felt when Swype first came out. It was all over the forums so I signed up for the beta, got accepted and tried it for like a day. Oh man was I lost. Not sure when or even how I got back into it and now it's the only way I type on my phone, but these days I use GBoard.

Yeah I haven't figured out how to do it yet, and maybe can't with pure gestures, but with the buttons you can hold the recent button and move side to side to slide through your recent list without having to swipe. If I could figure out how to do that I would probably use it but since you first have to swipe up, maybe there's an in between... I'll have to keep playing with it I guess.

It’s more convenient but I wanted something new, so I went with Gestures.

I started using gestures as soon as I got Pie on my S9+. I really like the gestures. I hope Samsung retains them because from what I've read, Google is switching to the iPhone ripoff gestures, which I'm not a fan of. The gestures we have on these phones is perfect IMO. I don't want to have to double swipe from the left to go back. Completely stupid.

Reportedly Google is just telling OEMs that they should offer the stock gestures alongside their own, not completely remove their solutions.
