Navigation Woes

Out of the blue today, my navigation went from 1st person mode (where you can see yourself tracking along the map) to 3rd person mode

The navigation is still correct but now it's a blue cursor rolling along the map like Pacman.

What happened?

I could not find an option to change this.

tap the red and white compass icon in the top left, see if that fixes it...

And here I was trying to delve into a deeper options menu

When you said "3rd person mode" I was thinking it started speaking in the 3rd person. Mike should turn right at Maple Street.

I keep forgetting where you switch from on foot to in car and vice versa
