Need a Droid X

Okay so I've been patiently waiting to order the Droid X tonight online at 12:01 EST


I have a little bit of a dilemma I hope you all can solve. My family has 3 vzw lines. Mine, my mom's, and my dad's. My NE2 upgrade isn't until June of next year and my Dad wants to use his current one for an upgrade of his own. My mom just has a flip phone and rarely uses it and won't be using the upgrade.

I want to know if I can order the phone through her line...get it to my house...then get it activated in store under my phone number? I hope this is possible.

You can activate any phone on any line of a family plan. I'm doing the same thing on my 3 lines tonight. One is up for an early upgrade but it isnt my line.

But there isnt any reason to go into the store to activate. You can do that from home. Just follow the prompts when the droid x boots. It will dial *611 and you can program the phone there.

That's what my brother did but he has AT&T. He got 3GS called them and they swapped it over to his number. Never had a problem. Not sure how Verizon would handle it though.

Yep. You can use their upgrade (locking them in for 2 more years) but have the phone use your telephone number instead. My brothers do that with each others line and they get a NE2 every 1 year.

You can activate over the phone. No need to go to a store. Just make sure if you are the one making the call (or making the trip to the store) that you have administrator privileges on the account.
