Just looking for some friendly advice here. Thanks in advance.

I probably fit the definition of your "average user" perfectly - web browsing, streaming video (Netflix, Youtube, HBO, etc.), and reading. That's it. No gaming. Not creating documents for work. I don't need anything super fancy or expensive, and 16GB of storage is plenty for me. Looking to stay ~$300 (and buy from Best Buy because I've got a lot of reward zone certificates).

So, just going down the product page and based only on price, it looks like I've got a couple options:

2014 16 GB Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 - $300
Samsung Galaxy Tab Pro 10.1 16GB SM-T520NZKAXAR - Best Buy
16 GB Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7 - $300
Samsung Galaxy Tab A 9.7" 16GB Gray SM-T550NZAAXAR - Best Buy
16 GB Lenovo Tab 2 10.1 - $200
Lenovo Tab 2 A1070 10.1" 16GB Blue LENOVO TAB 2 A10-70 - ZA000001US - Best Buy
32 GB Lenovo Yoga 2 10.1 - $330
Lenovo Yoga 2 10.1" Intel Atom 32GB with Keyboard Black Yoga Tablet 2 10 - 59428420 - Best Buy

I would go in and try to hold some of the devices. I can understand having a desire for a 10" screen for easier reading, but keep in mind, that 10" due to weight, and size may keep you from holding the tablet for prolonged periods of time. Please, don't get me wrong....I am not saying don't buy any of them, but if the size/weight keeps you from using it, it doesn't seem very cost effective.

^best advise.

I've been reading comparison between HTC M8, GS5, LG G3 for a quite long time. Checking pictures, camera, specs.. But I once went to Verizon store (I was lucky to get all 3 on one table) after playing with each for 10-15* minutes I made my decision

*I knew what I was looking for and didn't take me long time to decide.

Lenovo tablets have great battery life which would suit your needs more. My wife has the first Lenovo yoga tablet and she loves it - as Golfdriver pointed out though, we got her the 7 inch one as the 10 inch one was too heavy to hold for long periods of time.

not a fan of the 10 inch form factor. my transformer prime sits in a drawer. the only time it comes out is if i need to read a pdf. and yes, you need gorilla arms if holding it after awhile.

indeed, reading pdf's is the only reason i can see that favors a 10 incher. by the same token, imo a 7 inch screen is too small.

i'd look into an 8 inch tablet myself.
