I seem to have bad luck with bluetooths.

I have the Incredible and decided to go ahead and spent the money to get a good blue tooth.

I bought the Jawbone 'the thinker, ICON'

I am not that much impressed.

When I am driving on the freeway, people tell me they don't hear every word, or I am cutting out, or it doesn't sound clear,or has background noise.

Does anyone have any suggestions regarding getting a decent blue-tooth for the Incredible. I thought i bought the best, but I seem to have people telling me I am not coming through clearly when I am on the freeway.

Is that wrong to think it should be clear on the freeway ?

Any suggestions ? Honestly, I have never found a bluetooth that worrks for more than an hour or two and is clear.

Any thoughts ?

What is working ( bluetooth-wise) for others with the Incredible.

thanks for any feedback.

I have the Jawbone Icon. I was using it on my Moto Droid it worked great. I now have the Inc and it works great with it. I did go to jawbone and downloaded and ran the updater 1.0.27 I am not sure if that was a actual update for the jawbone or just for the pc to comunicate with the jawbone for future updates. Anyway mine works great. Here is the link: Introducing Jawbone ICON™ The World’s First Intelligent Headset: Product Support

Another to take a look at is the plantronics voyager pro. I used it with my hero and now the incredible and I've never had an issue with it. Easy to hear and be heard with, even on the highway with the windows partially down. You lose little to no sound quality versus talking on the phone itself. A nice plus is that it uses the same type of charger as the incredible.

For road work... the best I've used is the Blue Eagle II. Great noise suppression, long talk time, very comfortable... not small though.

The Plantronics Voyagers are very reliable. I have had a few. The 520s were the best sounding bt I have used. The 510's (although they are TANKS compared to today's were so comfortable (and NEVER fell off.)

I had to ditch them for true multipairing, but if that isn't a concern for you they can't be beat (especially at todays prices).

My Jawbone Prime is OK. It never was loud enough for me and I do not like the button-that-is-not-a-button thing. It can be shrill. It was pretty comfortable and battery life was VG.

CS with Jawbone is excellent. If you are having issues, call them up. If they can't figure out what the issue is they will setup a swap out. It could be a bad unit. Worth a try.

My Blueant Q1 rocks. It was a bit quiet on my bb, but volume is excellent on the Inc. The "talking to you" part is not for everyone, but is nice if your hands are otherwise occupied and your phone is harnessed.

My jawbone worked well but only if I held it to my face tightly. Found out that my beard was interfering with it. Switch to a JX10 and it seemed to work fine.

Jawbone Icon is by far the best or even their older ones are better then any others out there. I can talk with the window open on the freeway and no one complains. Maybe you have a defective one. I have used Jawbones since they came out and I have tried alot of others, like blueant, blackberry 510 and more.

Thanks everyone... I have the Jawbone and I have tested it for about 2 weeks with different people and people tell me it consistently sounds "tin-like" and that they don't hear all the words I am saying. The problem seems worse on the freeway.

What i need is a blue tooth that works good on freeways ( with the extra noise they create) because I drive almost all day.

I have heard good things about plantronics devices. I also might try the software download mentioned earlier.

I have just had bad luck with blue tooth devices in general.

You may want to try repositioning the device. If you are fading in and out to your callers, it sounds like it might be the mic picking up your voice. Some Jawbones are very picky. Make sure to see what the User Manual calls for as far as positioning.

It's also worth doing a full reset on the device.

Another thing to consider, if you are on the road alot is an in car BT. They are getting cheaper (even the good ones).

only time i ever got my jawbone to work correctly was when i was pressing it against my face lightly. it did not fit me very well and kinda hanged from my ears. yes i tried all the different ear loops and gel inserts

I had some issues with the Jawbone 2 whenever the sensor would come off my face. People would complain that I was cutting in and out...and this happened when I was walking to my car talking. The Jawbone 2 would work great in my car though.

I have since upgraded to the Jawbon ICON and the earbud is much improved. It now has a little loop on the round earbud that effectively locks the headset into place in your ear. The noise cancellation is much better than the Jawbone 2 and even when the ICON comes off your face, it still works better...although you sound more mechanical. Check your fit with the ICON to make sure that the sensor is on your cheek and pointed at your mouth.

I use my apple bluetooth for iphone LOL and it works great, I was stoked it worked as I only bought it last year and then they were discontinued , dont' know if you can still rustle one up but heres a vote for that, my old plantronics was ok too, but it was jacked out of my car for being too shiny and flashing, thats why I love the apple one, black and basically no lights!

i just got the plantronics 975, i'll let you know how this one works out.

I think there is an issure with the BT on the inc. I didnt have any luck with my JB Icon and now my Plantronics 975. VZ is sending me a new INC on Monday to see if its the device.well see.

oh man... ij ust got the plantronics 975... it would be kind of depressing if that doesn't work either

Plantronics has never failed me.
The 510 and Pro make you look like the borg but they work. Even my 520 was incredible.
There was a link on crackberry in the forums that allowed you to get the Pro for 45.00 and that is what I did. It is worth it's price tag.

I have the Jawbone II. As a previous poster suggested, the Jawbone MUST be positioned just right. The little rubber tip MUST make contact with, and rest on, your face or it just won't work.

For the record, I used a Voy Pro and it was an awesome headset. Never used it with the INC, but it worked great with my Moto Droid. If this doesnt work , I may return the 975 and go back to the Pro, but I really like the 975 and it seems to be a bit louder than the Pro. One thing about the Pro, it is EXTREMELY comfortable for extended wear.
