Need Help 5 beeps and green blinking light

trying to procure a back up phone from a friend for the time being.

I have dealt with this situation many times and I can say there has been no resolution other then a replacement of the device.

The 5 vibrates is a Qualcomm download mode and I have not figured out how to get out of it nor how one finds themselves in it in the first place.

Like the user, you can flash the RUU or PB31's all you want and it might fix the issue to the point where you can boot it with the USB plugged in but the device will never be the same again.

In my attempts to figure it out I have rebuilt internal partitions, Flashed radios, Hboots, full OS's, MFG Hboots, and unicorns. All have led to the same result.

Just thought I would put out my .02 as I have seen this issue many times.

Doug - thanks for the input. I remember there were 2 5 beep threads and I know Upstream worked with one of them, but I don't think the results were ever posted.

i just met with joeEVO to fix his evo so far i got it to turn on but sometimes it turns of after 5 min also it only beeps if i turn off the phone with usb debug on... also it wont recognize if its charging but it is cuz the led light is on ... this is hardware related!!!!!!!!! meaning the phone is f*cked... ill report back see if i can fix it

It is probably a USB brick

I had the same problem with my HTC Legend a few days ago, it turns out to be a USB brick, which means something had corrupted the misc partition. The fix is simple, just flash a good misc image back to that partition and everything is back to normal, there are tons of USB unbrik TUTs out there.
