I often get important emails that for whatever reason head to my spam box , in the default Samsung email application I cannot find spam folder , I have clicked show a folders and there is no spam folder ....any help is appreciated thanks.

I can see all my folders when I click menu>>folders including spam when I access my personal email though imap..
If you are using Exchange Email then you have to choose view>>folder, then click the folder icon next to "Inbox" (not the text) ,it will then show all the subfolders...

I must be doing something wrong because I added a Yahoo email account to the stock email application ( not Gmail ) and I do not see those options.

I don't think there is a spam folder or a filter ether.

This is my yahoo email.. The spam is called bulk and syncs also.. Try setting up the email with the "others" option, that is how I set up all my emails and every folder syncs fine

Or might be a Verizon mail thing because I can see my spam folder on aol/yahoo/work just fine. I tried with my VZ, I tried creating folders and changing spam settings and nothing.. folders don't sync over.. If they offered imap wouldn't have this prob I think..

I think the difference here is that mike340t said he set up the account "through imap"... if you set up the account as a POP3, that may determine which folders are available on the local mail client.
"The POP3 connection allows you to quickly and easily download emails to your personal [device], whereas the more contemporary IMAP protocol enables you to open emails directly from the server without needing to download them first in order to read them. Thus, they can be accessed not only from your local email client, but also from any other [device] via an email client or the Webmail clients."

Exacty, This is why I can access my spam/junk/bulk folders on everything from aol, yahoo, my personal email server and work. VZ only offers basic pop3, which does not allow folders to sync over..

It began because you checked your junk e-mail folder with your phone.

Delete your e-mail account from the phone, add it back again, and don't check your junk folder for ***** enlargement pill promotions.

Worked for me.
