Need help with email

Hello guys I am having an issue with my email app. I have 3 email accounts combined to the stock email app. For some reason its syncing all my emails from years ago until now and its still going. I just want it to sync new emails automatically not every single email from the past and I do not want to delete the email because I have many important emails within the 11k emails I have currently and would take forever to find the important ones to move to another folder.

I am also experiencing a lot of lag when scrolling, and when changing apps but it also happens during other stuff. The lag started ever since I turned on the device

I am new to the android OS. I have owned a windows phone and it runs smoothly compared to this.

Welcome to Android Central! What email providers are the 3 accounts from? Do you know if you're using POP3 or IMAP servers?

Open Email, tap Menu, then Settings, and go into each account's settings. There should be an option for how far back to sync each email account. If you're using POP3 servers, your options might be more limited, since this is an older protocol. Try to use IMAP if at all possible.

I am using 2 Yahoo accounts which are IMAP and 1 hotmail account

This should limit the syncing to your newer emails. Not sure if that's what your wanting to accomplish. Hope that helps.
