Okay guys I am new to this. I have the boostrap recovery and I have the premium rom manager. I am rooted already. Here's what I did...

I opened the bootstrap and click boostrap recovery, it said success.

I installed the clockwork from rom manager

From there I downloaded a rom from rom manager I tried 2 birdmans final flyx and rubix.

After downloading I clicked both boxes where it says backup current and wipe and clear.

It rebooted but I am still at the same exact 2.2 with my X nothing changed?

Am I doing something wrong?

Go back into bootstrapper. Click top button bootstrap recovery. Get success and click ok. Then hit reboot recovery and it will boot into recovery. Once in recovery just click reboot using the camera button. It will reboot. Then use rom manager like you did. Bootstrapper needs to do a full reboot to work.

Thanks for the quick response! I just now hit Boostrap Recovery it said success I hit okay and hit Reboot recovery and nothing happend

It didn't reboot? Turn the phone off and then turn back on and try again. Never seen that happen before. Did you grant bootstrapper super user?

Try the Apex Rom and see if it does the same.........(DID you flash ClockworkMod Recovery?) first choice inside Rom MAnager.

When it restarted did it just go right to home or into recovery. If it just did a normal reboot to home then try and apply bootstrapper again.

What did you root with and can you open the super user app.

Oman did u just get that app from the market? Heard its not right. Id go to the sticky here and root that way. Something is not right that its not letting you do what you want.

I am pretty sure its the legit version though.

Flyx, rubix, and apex

They all finished downloading, restarted and went to the same regular home screen.

I have ahome running with the ipad theme I don't know if that matters.

I need help now. I really don't know without having the phone. If you live in nj ill meet up. Let me think of a few more things as I hope someone jumps in with another idea.

Ok let's try this. Turn off phone and boot into recovery. Hold home and power till u see the android guy. Then hit the search key. Using the volume rocker select wipe data/factory reset. After that select wipe cache. Then select reboot system. Open bootstrapper and click bootstrap recovery. Get ok success. Then hit reboot recovery and let it reboot. Once rebooted open rom manager and select rom apex. Im using this no issues. Once it dl click backup and wipe and let's see what happens.

I'm sure this was done but when rom manager asked for super user access your hit "ALLOW" right?
same with bootstrap?

At this stage my best advice is pick a rom and find it's forum and thread follow their instructions and if you still have an issue ask for help there.

Rom Manager is cool but i feel like it makes things almost too easy.

What you initially described sounded like what tntdroid suggested, a problem with bootstrap.
