need suggestions?

I'm new here, and currently own a G1. the phone keeps crashing and needs a new battery.....I think its time for a new phone

I'm on the TM network and am looking at the new Vibrant (Galaxy) or the Nexus 1. Which one do you think would be a better more up datable phone to go with? or do you think I should just buy a battery and wait for something better?

I'm still learning phones......

N1 is technically a dev phone, and will always get the latest version of Android first. That said, the Galaxy S is more powerful, and pretty well blows away the N1 and every other Android phone in graphics tests.

It depends on which you value more I guess.

I'm sorry, what does dev mean? Will the galaxy be upgradable, or should I just wait. I normally keep my phones for 3-4 years and the G1 only lasted me a little over a year....

Dev means developer. The N1 is designed to be user upgradeable with beta releases of software, the Galaxy you're more limited in the ability to add the latest (and buggiest) software. My guess is that by asking this question you've answered your first one - go for the Samsung
