Hi ive been rooted for a while and know my way around but a couple days ago my charge port gave out and doen't charge or connect to a computer. My plan was to return to completely stock by using a PC36IMG and flash it through the bootloader. I did that and it went well. I now am unrooted, stock rom, and i have S-ON. The only problem is that my hboot is version 6.17.00001 and it needs to be 2.16.00001 so the Sprint tech doesn't know i was rooted. He will know because Sprint doesn't have a stock hboot s-on that is version 6.17.00001. Sprints newest is the 2.16.00001. I was told i could run an RUU (which ive never done before) to return to stock with the stock hboot but i can't do that because my phone won't connect to the computer. Also if i right (i hope im wrong lol) you can't downgrade an hboot if its a newer one, so i cant run an older RUU and it downgrade my hboot, and then eventually go to system updates and update my phone.
If you have any ideas on how to down grade an hboot to 2.16.00001 S-On without connecting to a computer i would appreciate your help.Thanks.

ps; in the title i meant to put hboot 2.16.00001

It doesn't matter if you have been rooted or not. Charger port is a hardware issue not software. I also have never seen them boot into hboot to check. Its s-on so he will probably just over look it anyways.

Also usually you can't back clock the hboot versions iirc.

You are correct, you CAN NOT downgrade Hboots...always stay away from updating them. The only way your borked charging port could be software related is if for some reason the kernel didn't support it. Other than that, it shouldn't matter what ROM your running or whatever.....that is an insurance issue, not a warranty issue. Remember....rooting only voids your manufactures warranty not your carriers insurance. Though to avoid any stupid hassles just make your phone look as stock as you can and you shouldn't have any trouble getting it fixed. :)

This I always just put a sense based rom with launcher pro, hide su using launcher pros settings, and they have never question me about it. I have even taken it in while on Decks for my external speaker being blown and crackling. They still fixed it without a problem and was asking about the rom I was on.
