I stopped counting at 20 the number of software defects in my new Moto device, most of them around Notifications. Confirmed on various forums that the defects are real, but the system default settings can only be changed if you have superuser access. I bought the phone from Verizon so it's not rooted, as my last device that I ordered directly from Motorola was.
Searched the forums and all the rooting threads were from 2014-6, and don't work on Oreo. The device is almost unusable with all these notification defects, and the workarounds posted dont seem to work.
Dont care at this point if its an app I install on PC and run via USB cable, or direct app installed on the device.
