Hey guys, first time post on the forums and i need you guys help. I have had my optimus v for some time now and im ready to root and install a custom rom on the thing so i can oc the processor. My issue is that i cant root the darn thing. Gingerbreak, superoneclick and z4 have all failed me and i cant install the Backside IHO gingerbread rom with out root. Please help me out by telling me what i need to do to gain root permission on the phone D: As the title says, this phone has android 2.2.1 on it and i have read that gingerbreak dosent work to well on that version. but i dont know why z4 or super one click wouldn't. I appreciate any help i get from you guys :D

Gordita root is the one that worked for me

Gingerbreak should work just fine if you are on ZV4. Make sure to let it sit for a while. If it gives you errors, you're going to need to be more specific and tell us exactly what happens.

Ok when i use gingerbreak it gives me the "Not sure what happend here" error. It asks to restart the device to see if super user is on the phone. I have done this many times and super user is not loaded and the phone is not rooted.

Try doing a factory reset from the stock recovery and reinstall gb.apk
Make sure adb debugging is turned on and that your sdcard is mounted with "no errors". (sdcard size, grade, allowed space and format/partition) plays a big roll in how things work on our phones.
