Android Central Question

I have a huge need to root my Samsung Galaxy J7 Prime model SM-J727T, hardware rev. 0.7 running Android 7.0 Nougat.

I have found sites that say its not possible and others that say it is possible and give methods. My problem is all the methods say you need to enable the OEM Unlock option in the Developer Options menu and my developer menu does not show a OEM unlock option at all.

Is there a work-around for when the OEM unlock is not in the developer options menu?

I would be extremely grateful for any and all help getting my device rooted.

My main need to root the device is to recover pictures and texts that have gotten deleted. All the windows software I have found to do the recovery of the deleted information require the phone to be rooted.

Thank you!

Welcome to the forums. I don't think there is a workaround when the unlock option is missing.

Keep watching this thread for news. When there's a CD-Autoroot for the T variant of the phone, it's going to be there soon after it's been proved to work.

Or try this link - I just ran across it.

You are correct. The Samsung j7 cannot be rooted as the exploit has not be found. One solution is to install Root Browser 3.5.9.0 from the Play Store and then perform a search for .jpg (assuming that's the format of your pics). After the list is populated, click on properties to learn the location.
