Need Unlocking Bootloader help

Hey, Im trying to unlock the bootloader for my galaxy nexus and its stuck on waiting for device. I tried with platform-tools and galaxy nexus toolkit. please help Im running 4.2.1 I installed the USB drivers and running usb debugging on

Have you tried fastboot or ODIN yet? The latter mentioned is used to flash firmware to Samsung devices and is generally more stable IMO. (FYI, the Galaxy Nexus IS a Samsung device.)

Odin is a Samsung proprietary bootloader and flashing software that can ONLY be used on devices manufactured by Samsung. Odin is also installed on each Samsung android handset and is used for flashing downloaded firmware, more specifically official OS updates. Alternatively, you can also use Odin to attain root and to flash custom unsigned firmware but be aware that doing this will trigger the flash counter/download counter, which voids your phone's warranty. That's why custom recoveries are always recommended over the stock android recovery built in the phone.
