I really could use your advise with how to use Android Jelly Bean 4.3 and also how to use this phone . Any basic help for newbie would be greatly appreciated , thanks.

Welcome to Android Central and congratulations on your new phone! You've got yourself a powerful and great device there that there's so much you can do with. I can't cover here all the ins and outs of Android but there are some good guides that can get you started if, like this one.

You've come to a great community and we're here to help, welcome again!

Thanks for the welcome and link . I should mention I don't really care much for apps . I'm not into games, movies, having photos or videos . My main use will be just the phone mainly . I'm curious with its features and how they are used . Again, any help one can recommend much appreciated . I probably should be looking else where how to use LG Nexus 4 , Yes ?

Actually, there is a dedicated Nexus 4 area on Android Central that you can go into and look around in. I would highly encourage you to do so.

However, and with all due respect, you're going to need to change your attitude with regard to apps because, as a practical matter on a day to day basis, it is *all* about the apps.

You can't take a photo without an app. You can't message somebody without an app. Much less make a phone call without an app. To say that "I'm not into apps" (and apparently everything else that goes with it) really makes me wonder why you would bother to buy a nearly top-of-the-line Android based *smart*phone to begin with.

Again, I am nor saying any of this with the intent to be rude. Rather, I am really surprised by your attitude, given that this is a message board having to do with smartphones which it kind of seems like you'd rather not own.

Ooh ooh! Open up Google search/now (you can do so by swiping the home button up) and search "help". It'll give you a list of things you can do when you search! Also, you can search by voice by saying "Google" when you open Google now. Apps are great too, but if you're not into it I'd say maybe look for apps that help you be more productive? I know Todoist keeps my to do list in order. The camera has a cool photosphere feature you should check out. Google keep is really nice for taking notes and making lists. Explore all the stock apps. I know you'll find something you'll like, Even if it's not the app itself.

The phone part is easy - dial a number, talk for a while, hang up. You don't need a smartphone for that.
