So I just bought the Nexus S from Negrielectronics with ATT bands, and without thinking I didnt check to see if it was the Super Amoled version rather then the SLCD version. Can anyone confirm wether it is a Super Amoled or a SLCD?

I read and it never says what kind of screen it has. This is all it says "A brighter screen with higher contrast means colors are incredibly vibrant, text is crisp at any size, and luminance is up to 1.5x higher than conventional LCD displays."

Yeah I read that too. I was hoping someone who already had the phone arrive would be able to share with all of us because from what I hear SLCD kind of sucks

I have the phone in hand and it looks like the same screen that the Tmo Nexus S has. Blacks are dead black. Other than that I am not sure how you would tell. Hold a Tmo Nexus S and this one side by side they look exactly the same.

...so are the Canadian Nexus S' SuperLCD devices or SuperAMOLED? On all the carriers I've checked they say SuperAMOLED but what's all this talk about having SuperLCD displays?

Which carriers have SuperLCD displays on the Nexus S?

And it does say on the Negri Electronics site:

Brilliant 4” Contour Display
Nexus S is manufactured by Samsung, and it is the first smartphone to launch with a Contour Super Amoled Display. The curved glass screen fits comfortably in the palm of your hand and along the side of your face.

A brighter screen with higher contrast means colors are incredibly vibrant, text is crisp at any size, and luminance is up to 1.5x higher than conventional LCD displays.

It seems like they only have the Super Amoled listed on one of their Nexus S pages, not the other ones...

Instead of putting Super Amoled on their Nexus S Samsung will put SuperLCD on it in areas where they are short on SuperAmoled screens.

...wow. So how will I know if the device I'm buying has a SuperLCD display?

That's the hard part. You have to figure out where it came from. From Europe, Australia, etc... Then check to see what screen Samsung is using to make the Nexus S in that region. SO if you got it from Negi Electronics then you have to figure out where they got the Nexus S from.

To the OP: have you gotten your phone yet or still waiting on shipping? If you have it, can you confirm its picking up ATT 3G? thanks

Thanks...well that sucks. I'll be buying mine at Bell so hopefully they have SuperAMOLED displays?

No, wasn't worried. If I didn't like the screen I'd send it back. Additionally, though I received the Super AMOLED version, I'd probably prefer the Super LCD if it's anything like the screen on the HTC Inspire (also Super LCD). Samsung's Super AMOLED has great color but is pixelated due to the subpixel/pentile issue. As a matter of fact, I think I'm going to start looking for a Canadian Nexus S if I can confirm that they have the Super LCD screen.

I forgot to come back to this post

I got mine, and I love it! The screen looks great! Its weird though that when you angle the screen you kind of get a blueish look. Anyone know why?
