Netflix won't play on my Tab S2 9.7

So I found out that there was a free 1 year Netflix subscription offer going on when I bought my tab back in December, and I filled out the rebate info and submitted it. About a month later, I got my code or whatever, and got my Netflix account activated with the free year.

However, I noticed that I cannot play any videos on my Tab S2. The app launches fine, and I'm logged in and viewing shows and movies, but whenever I pick one, it just sits at a black screen that says "Loading" with a red spinning circle. No matter what show or movie I pick, or how long I wait, it never gets past this loading screen.

Using the same account, I am able to watch Netflix videos on my other devices (Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, multiple Windows PCs), and have no issues. Also, if I pull up a video on my Tab S2 and cast it to a Chromecast it plays, but it never plays locally on the device's screen at all.

I have tried:

Clearing cache/app data
Reinstalling the app (many times)
Shutting off all other devices (to make sure it wasn't some weird device limit issue)
Clearing system cache/dalvik in TWRP

and nothing has worked. I spoke with Netflix support and they just told me to do the same things I've already done, along with clearing my browser history on my PC for some reason.

This has been the strangest and most frustrating issue, and I can't figure it out! Any suggestions would be appreciated!

I am having the same issue on my tab s2. Netflix will connect to the chrome cast and stream fine but it won't play on the device. It just says "loading" and stays like that forever. I have found no solution yet.

Ah, yeah that was a very frustrating issue, but I did end up finding a fix for it on another forum! Root your device (if you haven't already) and then rename or delete the file /system/lib/liboemcrypto.so and then reboot

I bought my tab S2 off Craigslist about a week ago, so when I saw this, I was naturally worried. Fortunately Netflix is playing fine.

Thanks a lot, that worked great in my S2 T710

Yep, working fine here. I just finished watching another episode of Grace and Frankie.:)
