On my dad's phone he has almost like a ghosting effect on his screen. He'll take a screenshot & a little image appears at the top of the screen like normal but when he clears that notification you can still see a faint image of the notification. When something else comes through to the phone like a message from Gmail that will replace the screenshot notification & he'll have a faint image of the Gmail notification instead.

Also he's said that when he's watching a video & turns the phone sideways he can see 4G behind the video. Any ideas what is going on with his phone & how to clear/stop these strange images appearing?
 
The phones not that old possibly a year old or younger plus things need to be on the screen a long time for it to cause burn in surely?

Depends as well on how bright he keeps it. Display endurance ratings before burn in are usually done at 50% IIRC. So if he's not on auto and brightens his sceen up then it's possible.
