New 2$ fee for payments

It seems that now Verizon is going to start charging $2 fee to pay the bill with any option but auto pay and electronic check. That means if you pay online or through your phone you will be chanrged. If you call in to pay it you will be charged. if you go to a store and the rep help you yep you guessed it you will be charged.


i just have 2 questions.

1) what if i use the kiosk in the store to pay do i still get charged?

2) With this change can I consider my contract null and void?

It wouldn't effect the contract because you have other methods of payment. They wouldn't make this change if it meant voiding contracts... They obviously want to make money.

And according to this article, you can pay by check on autopay, monthly and over the phone. Looks like they're charging to use credit cards unless it's autopay.

I had to tell my friend that she needs to use auto pay and she wasn't happy. I don't mind it myself because I keep enough money in my account to cover the charges. Besides, I use a credit card rather than debit so I can get Amazon rewards.

This is so much BS, I guarantee it would cost VZN way more money to handle an influx of their payments made by handwritten checks via snail mail. How many employee hours would it take and delay in getting their payments if most of their online payments switched to this method???

I agree, I think we should all just start sending paper checks to VZ every month. But you better make sure they're not late or you get hit with a late fee which is way more than $2.

#1: Credit/debit/ATM card, electronic check or cash at a Bill Payment Kiosk, Panel or with a representative at a Verizon Wireless Communications Store; fee does not apply.

#2: No, your contract is still valid. VZW is notifying you in advance of an upcoming change. You can try to claim "null and void contract", but you're probably going to lose. It sucks, but that's business.

This is to cover the rising credit card fees. Really need to look at the banks and visa/master card. Did everyone stop using a credit card to buy gas? Around me its 10¢ more a gallon if you use a card. I pay my bill online with my checking account on the day I want to pay it each month so it won't affect me. A bunch of companies do this. Some of my utility bills if paid over the phone they add a service charge of a few bucks. Same thing here.

Just another corporation who didn't have enough money already. Thought it would be a good idea to take more money from the average joe.

When is enough going to be enough for these large corporations?

I am all for making yourself money but at what point is having billions of dollars enough

I had calked today. I was very nice. The Rep said they have been bombarded with phone calls. I said I was disappointed this was happening. They are customers too and don't like it.
Good to know they are backing off on this.
They have taken a lot from us. No more special rebates on upgrading and higher prices on smartphones.
They need to rethink their actions!

So if you believe that article. Do what I did. Call Verizon. Get it from the "horse's mouth"

Yes you will get charged. ONLY a check or using your online banking ....no charge
