WOW! thanks fuzzylumpkin and vintagetechtm, some great advice there.
time to have a good read up.
after playing about a bit yesterday i found a few similar ringtones on Zedge which Lefty mentioned above.
also loaded docs to go for xl files i need for work.
also just reminder for appointments and meetings as not liking the default callender much. loaded a couple from the store but still no good.
for the data usage app Vodafone UK wont work for some reason so found my data manager app which seems to be doing the job so far.
now the bigger problem im having at the moment is quite a biggie. while at home im conected to my home wifi and all working perfectly but as soon as i turn wifi off chrome or firefox shows as no internet connection even though data is turned on. luckily im off work now until 3rd january and i have to get it sorted by then as phone is used in hospital for emergency calls and i cant risk data not working continuously.
ive gone into settings and my carrier is listed and clicked on but its still showing 0 usage on data
lots more to learn and thank you both once again for your great advice.
I use Documents To Go as well. I used that since I was on my Blackberry Curve.
I use Calengoo as my default calendar. It will cost you some money and I do use Google Calendar as my pesonal calendar. Calengoo is primarily made for people who use Google Calendar but it can be used with any calendar that is synced on your OnePlus 3T.

The program that I use for MS Exchange is 9Folders or "Nine". This is a robust program with many customization options. The best feature of Nine is that you do not have to make your employer a Device Administrator on your personal phone. The security settings of Nine satisfy the security requirements of your employer and negate the need to make the emloyer a device administrator - best feature ever! You get the option of light theme or dark theme too. You can keep your work calendar only in Nine or you can allow other calendars on your OnePlus 3t to have access to your work calendar. If you are like me and you have one calendar for personal and work events then that feature is a necessity. There are many more features that are worth the cost - in my opinion.

Aqua Mail - Good with free and paid version. Not my favorite.

TypeMail - Good, last time I used it, it did not have calendar and notes for MS Exchange.

Blue Mail - This is good too, it didn't meet all of my needs like Nine did.

Your data issue...
1. Go into settings and navigate to and select "About phone"
2. Scroll down to "Build number"
3. Keep tapping "Build number" until you see the following message "You are now a developer!"
4. Go back to the main settings menu. Navigate to and select "Developer options" right above "About phone". Make sure developer options are turned on. Caution... if you are not sure about a specific setting, leave it alone.
5. Find and select "Aggressive Wi-Fi to Cellular handover". This will allow your phone to switch to your data when the WiFi signal is weak. Turn this option on if you want that.
6. Scroll a little further down and you will find "Cellular data always active". Turn this on if you want to keep your mobile data active, even if WiFi is active.
Again, use developer options very carefully. Make sure you research a setting very well before you play with it. I have actually used developer options to turn off the animations on my phone. I'm one of those users that doesn't care about animations and my phone looking cool in the process of doing something; I care more about my phone just working and not annoying me with needless animations.
If the Developer options regarding your data and wifi to data handoff do not work, than make sure you have the write APN settings for Vodafone

Vodafone UK APN Settings - APN info and Step by Step configuration. I couldn't find the date this was posted. You could always contact customer service.

If the APN settings are not an issue maybe it is reception? Or it could be an issue of what Vodafone data bands are used in your area. In the USA my OnePlus 3 does not receive all of the 4g bands that AT&T/T-Mobile uses. It will pick up the major bands. Also, my OnePlus 3 is able to make voice calls, send/receive text messages using the Verizon Wireless network. OnePlus 3/3T is not able to use the USA CDMA data bands.
Welcome to Android... I hope you like it. I like android os because it is very customizable. Android will give you more control over your phone compared to iPhones - with Android you can truely make it your own phone; just use that control wisely.
