New 4g radio better at reception?

Is the new 4G radio better at receiving 4g signal? Because I have had epic and nexus and I honestly never use 4g due to the fact that it constantly losses connection or is a battery drained when in low signal area. Plus I'm too lazy to turn it on when I need it bc most of the time I just like to quickly check things on Internet.

Is the penetration any better?

I'm pretty sure I read somewhere that the 4g radio is exactly the same as the EVO4G???.

The 3D uses a newer chipset that's more power efficient and supports ultra fast scanning so it connects to 4G way faster.

It's a Sequans chip, I read that on a press release somewhere.

Before i switched from an EVO to an EPIC i noticed that my EPIC scanned and found 4G signal twice as fast as the EVO. Once its found and goes into sleep mode, then back to active again was a lot faster then the EVO as well.

I was not sure if it was software or hardware that made that happen. My guess was a bit of both. Looking forward to the new 3D.

It's the Sequans 1210 iirc, which is the same chip as the Evo Shift (and, if you believe ifixit, the same as the Evo 4G). There have been a couple of other places that claim ifixit was wrong, and that the original Evo as the Sequans 210.
