New 6p owner

So after a few days, here are my gripes- power and volume buttons poorly placed. Camera doesn't line to focus, especially close up, strangely enough it seems to have gotten better over the past few days. GNL looks terrible, Jesus what are they thinking? And last but not least the size of the device, it's too big. Everything else is awesome.

The power buttons are placed ergonomically. I'd they were on the top or too high up people would complain. The camera, is a limitation of the components. You can't place it on a table and expect it to focus. The GNL launcher is fine, it's simple and just does the job. If you want something fancy, try Nova. Tons of customizations. Size is subjective, it's a decent size.

Ergonomically in YOUR opinion, not mine. I think they should've been placed a little higher (not on top). As far as the camera goes I don't expect it to focus 2 inches away but it does have trouble 8 - 10 inches away from a subject. Maybe it's Hardware may be its software, I don't know but it is there, I'm sorry you don't like it. As far as GNL, the icons are huge and it looks like **** to me, you saying "it's fine" doesn't change my opinion.

Try Nova launcher.

Been on it since the day I got it. I don't want anybody to think that I don't like the phone, I'm just expressing a few things that I dislike about it but can live with.

Was gonna ask the same thing. That's a lot of data, unless you are never home or don't have home internet.

I have xfinity at home, but I use my phone for YouTube/Netflix/xfinity2go at work sometimes when it's slow. I really wanted to use Fi, but the pricing scheme does not work for me.

That's weird my camera focuses fine within that range. Maybe you have a hardware defect in yours? The GNL isn't for everybody, that's why there is alternatives like Nova etc. I'm just hoping the next phone has a bigger screen.

How much bigger do you want lol? This thing is huge, but it's worth the dual speaker setup.

I was fine with the N6 screen. What was that 5.97" or whatever it was?? I'd say 6.1" would be cool. I love the stereo speakers, I watch a ton of video on my phone so a slightly bigger screen would be cool. Don't really want a tablet, but something I could still use as a phone.

I just traded an iPhone for the Nexus and I honestly couldn't be any happier. This phone is so amazing.

That is certainly not normal. The lens setup on the 6P can't really get in closer than about 3".... but beyond that, it should be able to focus without issue. I just played around with it and once I get past that 3" range, it focuses reliably and quickly. Do you have yours in a case? Or is there anything obstructing the laser emitter? The emitter is a little bit to the right of the dual-tone flash. If it's dark enough, you can actually see it firing when the camera app is open. If that is covered, focus most likely will go into the toilet since the camera will get a lot of conflicting information. If there's nothing obstructing that emitter, I would suspect there may be a hardware fault.

8-10" out, my 6P focuses quickly and reliably.

It seems like it went away after a few days, bit I just rooted it and after the FDR from unlocking the bootloader, it works fine now. Excellent camera, I think it's probably the best one I have seen on the phone, and I'm an amateur photographer.
