New and in need of help :)

What about putting music on the Rezound? Is it fairly simple?
Putting anything on an Android phone is simple. You just connect it to your computer and transfer stuff to it as if it were a thumbdrive. You copy and paste to it like any hard drive.

I know about Google Music but I also know that Beats doesn't work with it just yet.
I am a huge Rezound supporter, but I will be honest with you; Beats is a gimmick. The iBeats earbuds themselves are awesome. They are high quality and expensive. The "beats audio" is just a set of EQ settings, and you could probably replicate it with other apps that have an EQ.

That being said, this is going to be an on-going thing with HTC. The Rezound was just the first phone to get "Beats audio", but all of their phones will probably have it in the future, and so you can probably expect 3rd party support for it eventually.

So if I import my own music, can I get it to the Beats section? I also make my own ringtones. Can they be easily added to the phone as well? I'm so used to plugging in my BlackBerry and just dragging and dropping things to folders.
Yes, you can do that on Android. You will not be doing that on the iPhone. You need to use iTunes to manage music on the iPhone.

Ok and syncing music to the music player is easy?
Most music apps will scan your SD card by themselves. The native Rezound player does a good job of this. With 3rd party apps it is a mixed bag...PowerAMP was one I used on the Droid 1 and it worked well also.

For some reason the stock music app won't find ONE album on my SD card lol. It's only one, so I'm not bugged. Eventually I'll try to fix the problem.

I had that issue on my Droid 1. I found it would not "see" new items until I rebooted the phone.

I havnt had that problem on my Rezound so far, but I have not been adding a lot of new music to it.

...I can't sift through all of the endless posts looking for answers :)
MJP,

Welcome! There is nothing to sift through!

I've been a BB user for the past 4 years.

Click the link to the BlackBerry User's Guide to Android for how to transfer everything over and apps to use to replace your old ones.

My question to you is Will the Rezound be the smartest choice for me?

See the Phone Comparison. The Rezound, Galaxy S II, Galaxy Nexus, etc. are all great phones but each has it's strengths.

I have never used an iPhone or a Droid before and I am very worried about the transfer.

In order to consider the iPhone 4S you have to be able to answer NO to all of the following.

Do you want:
1. A faster 4G/LTE phone?
2. Any size other than small?
3. A real Notification LED?
4. microSD option to add 32GB+?
5. Removeable/Upgradable Battery?
6. HD Video Chat not VGA Chat?
7. LED Display?
8. DLNA for presentations or watch movies on your TV?
9. A full Facebook Sync (photos pop up when they call?)
10. Flash until HTML5 is ratified?
11. NFC to share a song or app
12. Controllable Haptic feedback (vibrate on key-touch)?
13. Full Gmail (Priority Inbox, etc.)?
14. Toggles to turn settings on/off?
15. Widgets to see apps without opening them?
16. Amazon Appstore with the free paid app of the day?
17. Other app stores like GetJar for free paid apps?
19. Notification bar apps like the Weather Channel for temperature?
19. Full Notification control: how often to repeat, vibrate, LED, etc.?
20. 15-Minute free trial on apps?
21. Theming to change your phone into anything?
22. Visual Voicemail with Contact Photos?
23. True hands-free Voice Commands?
24. Turn-by-turn navigation for free?
25. Live Wallpaper?
26. Swype, the keyboard that set the typing records?
27. A Real predictive keyboards like SwiftKey?
28. To connect a Bluetooth Mouse, keyboard, PS3 game controller?
29. To see, delete, rename, or move actual files just like on a PC

That's the most useful and greatest unintentional sales pitch ever posted. I wanna go buy one and I already own one.

Wow. You guys are awesome. Looks like I have lots and lots of reading to do. I have been in turmoil over this upgrade for months now. You have all made it so much easier. THANK YOU! THANK YOU! THANK YOU! I can't wait till the end of the month now! :D

Call and ask if they will move up your upgrade date the 4 weeks. Ask how much your buyout is if you go to another carrier. Ask for a supervisor.

Oh I'm not waiting for an upgrade date. I was due for one in October but decided to hold out so I could spend more money at Christmas lol. I'll be buying 3 Rezounds at once when I get the money together at the end of January :D I only wish there was some sort of discount for buying multiple phones lol

As awesome as a Rezound army would be, please don't do this!
I couldn't imagine buying the same TV 3 times, or the same game 3 times. Or 3 of the same car.
Variety is the spice of life.

What I'm trying to say is, save at least 1 of those purchases until after CES this month.

Well my gf and my son have been waiting for the Rezound since it came out. I was the one who wasnt sure of what I wanted lol

And I'm quite used to buying games in threes lol. We all play online together.

So now you have me wondering....is there going to be a "better" phone released after CES? Ugh this kills me.

Phonearena lists a couple of upcoming devices. The least detailed one is the only one I'm curious about haha, the HTC Fireball. Not official, very little detail.

The LG Revolution 2 seems to be on a similar basis as the Rezound, but the screen is bigger (still listed as 720p, which means it will have slightly less clear images than the Rezound, probably barely noticeable).

Disregard the RAZRMAXX, it just suggests it's a slightly thicker version of the RAZR fitted with a bigger battery.

LOL, I know how you feel. There's always a better phone in the horizon. You gotta bite the bullet sometime or you'll never get a new phone. Unfortunately even with CES around the corner, that does not mean those phones will be available immediately after the show. Those might be released 3, 6, 9 months down the road. But if you are patient, maybe thats what you want to do.

Patience is NOT one of my virtues lol. I need a new phone so I don't think I'll be waiting. My BB has a huge crack down the middle of the screen and is just a junky phone in general now. It's hanging on by a thread. I've stopped myself from throwing it against a wall on multiple occasions. It's definitely time to upgrade lol

The Rezound, GN, and RAZR can be considered the current "Flagship" phones. Their technology and design is all top of the line, and will continue to be on the leading edge of phone tech for many months. Add to this the longer the Rezound is out with an unlocked bootloader the more dev support we get. Dev support is what keeps an Android device of last year competitive with one of this year.

Verizon is the pits when it comes to releasing the gems of CES.

I am a newbie to this forum also and certainly understand your position on trying to go through the endless post to figure something out. With that said, thats what I did. Many, and I mean many hours on here researching others thoughts and opinions. I have found that you really have to watch who is doing the posting and how long they have been here and helpful they have been in the past. Soooo, those were the exact phones I was considering and I will keep it simple, I GOT THE REZOUND and LOVE IT. I had a samsung fascintate before and am still learning this sense thing, but it isn't that difficult. I don't know enough to do this rooting stuff, but sure I will learn from the fine folks here and will probably do it in future as I don't like all the bloatware and they say you can really utilize your phone to its full potential. Good luck with your choice. They all have their good points and their bad. Can't keep waiting for the perfect phone, or do I already have the best for TODAY. lol

I know that this question has been asked a million times already but I can't sift through all of the endless posts looking for answers :)

I am currently an out of contract Verizon customer with a Blackberry Bold 9650. I've been a BB user for the past 4 years. Before that I was a Moto Q9C user for 2 years. I am looking to finally upgrade the 3 phones on my plan at the end of January. I was hoping to find a good deal (BOGO) but it doesn't look like that is going to happen with the phones I am considering.

I have never used an iPhone or a Droid before and I am very worried about the transfer. I use my phone for everything. It is constantly in my hand. I google, youtube, stream music, send over 100 texts a day, use BB messenger at least 5 minutes out of every waking hour, use it as my flashlight, journal, and write grocery lists etc. almost daily. I know that most of these things are handled by "apps". My question to you is Will the Rezound be the smartest choice for me? There are some phones i have been keeping an eye on, the Rezound, Razr, iPhone, and the Nexus. I don't want a phone that I will regret buying 6 months down the road. I won't upgrade again for 18 months to 2 years. There isn't a store within 100 miles of me that has ANY of these phones available for me to play with in store. I am really leaning towards the Rezound but that is mostly because I am a sucker for a beautiful display and great sounding music.

So knowing that small amount of information I have given you, would you still choose the Rezound as a best choice?

I looked at some reviews of the Rezound and I think I might like Sense. I have read a lot about rooting and getting rid of bloatware, but I'm not sure that I feel comfortable enough to do these things. I do hate bloatware though. I don't want 100 apps on my phone that i wont use.

I also take a LOT of pictures and video. I want something with fantastic quality.
I just need some help in making a decision :) Thanks in advance for any help

Yeah. Forget my previous post. I in no way want you to become one of the "just wait for ____." Those people never end up upgrading to anything and always find every product to have some "fatal" flaw which they use as reasoning to not buy it.
I just meant that because you have 3 upgrades, maybe you could hold on to one in case something catches your eye. But that was assuming 3 things;
1.) Anything catches your eye
2.) You can wait 6-8 months
3.) If Verizon even gets anything displayed at CES
In other words, carry on, my friend. The Rezound awaits.
