Surely. But someone on another forum had heard that it was already working on nonrooted phones so I decided to test it out.

Thanks, Robrecht

I am able to watch movies on the new market with no problems. Great picture quality.

It started working for me after I ordered a movie. It will prompt you to download google movie Player and then you can play the movie. Not bad at all.
Thanks, but when was it that you ordered the movie? I ordered one Thursday morning early, downloaded Google Videos as prompted, but it didn't work for me and am wondering if it started working later perhaps.

Thanks, Robrecht

i thought there was a post on the AC homepage that google videos would not work on rooted phones =/ i think phil ranted about it .. i hope they change this in the near future because i rent movies on my xoom all the time n would like to be able to watch those movies on my thunderbolt

Frankly, I did not find Google's collection of movies to be that impressive. And I don't like paying $3-$6 to view a movie over a 24-hour timespan on a 4.3" screen. Netflix' model of paying $8/month for unlimited viewing on multiple devices strikes me as a much more user friendly model.

^ agree. Could not care less if I can't watch their expensive crap.

Hopefully that will pan out. I noticed that Netflix only advertises "PC, Mac and TV/DVD" devices. Might there be an add-on fee for phones?

I doubt it. Phone freaks around here are obsessed with getting Netflix on their phones but it is not that important to Netflix. Or to most Netflix customers. 3.5" to 4.3" screens just are not that important of a medium for watching movies and it's not like Netflix is hurting for other customers. Don't know if it can possibly be true, but somebody said a couple of weeks back that Netflix accounts for 20% of Internet traffic. Personally, I find that impossible to believe, but they dominate the market and phones are just such an insignificant part of that market that I think they can barely care about this market sector.

i use netflix on my rooted thunderbolt but the problem is that their streaming isn't up to par, alot of the more recent movies to come out are not available to instantly stream

The rom I'm running now has this baked in ans I really like the new interface. I don't care anything about the books and movies, but I like the new interface.
