Hello everyone,

just got an htc one today. Had a quick question.

I was trying to transfer files from my computer (which runs xp) to my phone. I want to do this by just dragging and dropping. I don't want to use htc sync manager. Is there a way to do this? I can't seem to find a setting on the phone that turns it into a storage device when connected to the computer.

Thanks.

Mount the phone as expandable storage. Basically a USB drive. Should be an option to do so when you plug your phone into your computer.

Tapped from my Nexus 10.1

thanks for your reply...nothing comes up on my phone stating that...i even went through the settings

my computer says that i need to upgrade windows media player, and then asks if i want to download htc sync manager

Go ahead and update Media Player if you don't want to use HTC Sync.

When it updates, it will probably have the appropriate software to deal with the drivers on your phone. It'll help the computer see the device as media storage (i.e. USB storage).

thanks very much...that was the issue...works perfectly now

I'm glad you got it sorted! If you don't want to use a cable, you should try airdroid. I think it's one of the best apps I've downloaded.
