Hey guys, New android user from webOS.

I'm curious about rooting and over clocking. I had a Pre, Patched like crazy and Over clocked to 1GHz.

My questions are:

Can i have 2.2 and still over clock? I read somewhere it's not possible, but that was dated information.

Is rooting and over clocking the same thing to you guys?

Is there a page were i can read about the rooting process?

Welcome to Android you won't be disappointed!!! Now to answer your questions.

Yes, you can have 2.2 and overclock but you have to be rooted.

No, rooting is making your phone able to have root privilidges, over-clocking is speeding up your CPU.

Yes, there are tons of posts about rooting, look in the Rooting, ROMs, and Hacks forums...lots of information in there that will be helpful.

Thanks for the reply, I done some research and rooting looks very easy. Haven't done much on over clocking yet, phone should be here tomorrow hopefully!!

The process is quite easy if you know what your doing...just follow directions exactly or the root won't stick. If you flash a custom ROM most of them are OC'd or have settings where you can set your min. and max.
