New battery problem

Okay so I got my thunderbolt on the 23th of march and since then the battery has has weird cycles on me. I understood it during the first week or so and it got a better to the point where it would last nearly a whole day for me about 12 or so hours and it didn't mind me as i expected it with LTE. Now the past 2-3 days my phone barely lasts for 5 hours with minimum usage. Like for instance today im at 50% with only 2h 30m unplugged and i have done absolutely nothing on it no calls, texts anything. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

last time i rebooted was last night like full reboot with battery pull and i have not added anything to the device since like last wednesday this really started happening saturday/sunday. I have everything set to update minimally unless i open it like weather every 3 hours, news once a day, even facebook i believe once a day unless i open.

I've been having the same problem. The past few weeks were fine on battery life (besides the first couple of days after i got the phone) 12-14 hours on light-medium usage. Now I can barely get 5-6 hours. Even with power saver on 15% the phone died 45min after it hit 15%.

Another weird thing I noticed is my widgets being removed.

i haven't noticed the widgets but I know exactly what you were talking about yesterday I went from 10am 100% (overnight) unplugged to 4pm 5%. and 15% to 5% went by in like 20 mins with power saver and not touching phone. like first few days i had phone either ran phone in lte only or cdma/evdo depending on where i was at then last 2 weeks i did lte &cdma evdo and got great batt. now this

I got my phone the first thing on 3/17 and was happy with my battery life until last week when I had problems charging the phone. After various experiments over a couple of days, I realized the OEM charger / data cable had gone out of whack. So I took it back to the store. They tested it and when they were also sure that it was not working properly, they replaced it with a universal charger which is working fine now.

I am not saying this is the problem you're having too but if you think he charging is kinda funky, you may want to check the oem charger /cable.

I am having the same problem. Some days I get great battery life the next day it isn't that great. My usage doesn't change much from day to day. I am wondering what the issue is. I also installed juice defenders to see if that would help and I got even worse battery life.

its the connection issues I believe. There are certain spots in my house I get no 4g signal, and while I am asleep and the phone is on my bed I get dropouts in 4g even though i am in the dead center of the coverage map. I sit on my computer right next to the windows and I get great 4g service, lol.

Sometimes when I dont have the phone plugged in to the charger next to my bed I loose half my battery because it keeps cycling between 4g and other signal type. When that happens you can say good bye to battery life.

Install CurrentWidget from the market, turn on logging, and see how much juice you're using. Most people are seeing -30 to -40mA when the phone is idle (I sit at about -34 to -38mA). If you're seeing -400 to -500mA even when the phone is sitting with the screen off, you've got a rogue process that's chewing through your battery.

Report back and let us know what you're seeing.

Read this thread, looked at my phone, and wth man!? I charged it 2 hrs ago. Didn't use it, and I am at 50%. I have the usual lowered display, not syncing, shutting down background apps etc. What is going on?! I was able to last almost 2 days idle!

Root, remove bloat and install one of these kernels= Be happy

I'm easily getting over 15 hours of battery life with moderate to heavy usage on stock battery. Do a few bump charges a week, and properly calibrate your battery, and you will have no more worries about battery life.

I noticed today that my phone went from 100% down to 50% in a matter of a few hours without being used. First time I've noticed a problem like this. Could there be some kind of network issue killing the battery?

I have the extended battery and was doing great with battery life. I could go a full day with a decent amount of battery left over at night. The last two days my phone has been dying in the early to late evening. I haven't added anything either.

My battery life has gotten worse since the week honeymoon period we all had. No rogue processes, been running battery monitor. Usually idle around 38.
