New Evo wannabe phones at CES

Updated the original post with some more comparison pictures and the new Optimus Black, an impressive lightweight camera that reminds me of the Galaxy line in the Evo size.

Well not to talk crap but a lot of those new features on those phones we have since June on our evos they just have a little more power n a few xtra things but woow the evo came out with a lot of those features already so by the time those phones get realease that means that the next evo2 will b coming out also n that means is gonna smoke those phones AGAIN!!!! So I think ill hold on to my evo til the evo2 cuz I love this phone

All I want is the Evo with better video, a better microphone (noise canceling), hdmi mirroring, and a dedicated camera button. Give me the exact same phone with those additional features, and I'm fine.

hey im curious about something....ive only had my evo for almost 3 weeks now.....but what exaclty do you use the HDMI for.....i mean what exactly do you guys use the HDMI port for.....do you transfer PICS to your tv use that port, or stream movie from your phone to your TV.....im just real curious what everyone uses it for.....i was gonna picks up a HDMI cable from amazon this week.......thanks fellas

I don't want to sound like I am spamming, but check out Monoprice. Ever since I have found that site I have been going there for all kinds of cables and home theater stuff. I picked up a 15 foot and 3 foot Micro HDMI cable and they both work great with my EVO.

The tegra 2 has its own image processor. I expect the camera will be awesome. And it's ok if the evo isn't the fastest phone out. It's still awesome.

Not sure anyone is whining... in fact, quite the opposite. The Evo holds up very well when compared to the new phones coming out.

@Cubfan Not to go off topic, but I noticed your Gmail Icon has a number indicating the number of unread messages. Is that the result of the custom ROM you have? Or is there some setting that I'm unaware of where you can have the Gmail app display it? (I don't see an option in the settings)

That's the "Gmail Unread Count" widget downloaded from the market. It's free and has lots of options.

Ripped movies play fine in the media player out of hdmi (but I use Act One). Of course, I wish Rock Player supported hdmi, so torrents would work... but if you reconvert them, they play fine, too... I use Dvdfab for that.
