New Facebook App Update

Today I received an update notification for my Facebook app. The existing Facebook app is horrible. It is slow, takes forever to load, forever to update, etc. Feels like I have a 486 processor from 1992 and i am on the VGN. I updated the app. So far I cannot tell any difference.

Anyone else notice any differences with todays update - especially speed wise?

The Facebook app on Android has always lagged behind the iPhone app. Oh well, it works (mostly) for me.

The notifications in the notification bar are actually a Facebook logo now, instead of some sort of notecard or something.. That's a plus, in my opinion..

It has just started doing that to me for some reason... It has also been taking up alot of battery.. I uninstalled and got tweetdeck instead

It does work pretty well

I gave up on the app so I uninstalled it. Now when I need to use facebook I use the mobile site, which is decent.

And I use Android Pro Widgets for its scrollable Facebook widget.

Why people bother with Facebook app notifications is beyond me.

Like 2 years ago I setup a Gmail filter for facebook. The filter drops it into a label that gets a different notification in Gmail.

They have not had the notifications working for like 3 years...its not going to change anytime soon

The update isn't bad to me. It's far from great but compared to how the app was in the past its not bad. I noticed it loads a little better now, the notification icon is different and I can finally change my profile pic in the app without it crashing. I have the iPhone app for my iPod Touch and trust me that one has its own set of problems too although it is still better than the android one.

Push notifications have already worked for me ever since gingerbread... i've never had any problems with it. It would be nice if there were notifications for likes also but as far as messages and comments I always get those.

Am I the only one that can't get the app to work on my Nexus? I can look at people's posts and stuff, but if I try to post or comment, it says it "failed". It was doing this before yesterday's update; I was hoping the update would fix it, but it still doesn't work...

Hm. Mine doesn't seem particularly slow, but yeah, every time I try to post anything, it says "Cannot post at this time. Please try again later". I tried clearing its data in settings, I even uninstalled it and reinstalled it, and I still have the issue...

Facebook on android and iOS suck big time. The app on my blackberry was actually the fastest I used

It's terrible.. so very terrible. The fact that you STILL can't sync facebook contacts to the GNex is rotten beyond belief. And you can't blame that on Google because every other app under the sun has no problems syncing contacts... LinkedIn, Friendcaster, Good Mobile Messaging.

I also have trouble using the mobile site. Half the time when I click on a link it just loads a blank page. Do others have that happen? Lamebook sucks.

Notifications always work for me somehow... I just often lose the sound that I have set for it. Resets to "silent"

I haven't been able to tag anyone in photos since 1.8... Can anyone do this?

Also, someone commented that they were able to change their FB profile pic from the app... How the hell do you do that?
