New Honor 8 setup

When I setup my phone am I better to use Nova launcher to get my home screen the way I like it?

I usually like a time date and weather at the top then in the middle my google calendar widget with program buttons and folders on each side. Use 5 large buttons on the bottom for main apps.

Can Honor EMUI accomplish this? I also thought I read that my Nova setup could be saved and applied to a new phone is that correct?

I don't think that you can set 5 apps across on the bottom on stock. Nova can do this though

Nova can accomplish the 5 apps on the bottom of the screen. As well as saving your current set up and restore it into another phone.

You can't do the 5 apps with EMUI but using stock EMUI is much better than Nova plus you still get all the customization you desire on EMUI

Does EMUI have the ability to change size of buttons and widgets and can you export save your setting and import it again to another new phone?

To each his own, nothing wrong with Nova if it achieves what the op wants

Icon sizes cannot be changed . I will check on the others when I get a chance

Dconn believes EMI is better than Nova. I don't mind giving it a try if it can change size of buttons and widgets and can you export save your setting and import it again to another new phone?

I am not as savvy about customizing my screens as most here and don't want to spend unnecessary time but if the consensus is EMUI is as good as Nova or better and can do what I want then I will give it a try.

Nova Plus can changed your icon sizes. The free Nova can't.

Well dconn is an Uber emui fan. Just something to keep in mind

No I don't think so. Here's what you can customize on EMUI with no launcher which I prefer. You can choose from 100s of EMUI themes and icon packs, wallpaper and background and 100s of font. For example I have my honor 8 set up just like an iPhone down to even the blue and white text message and circle dialer.

I think you should. You can do a lot from EMUI and you don't loose that stock software feeling. Like I prefer no app drawer. I'm thinking of going back to 4.1. I just sent you a list of the custom features that you can do on the fly with EMUI. You just download from play store app then find it in themes. Here take a look at my theme folder.
