New Honor 8 setup

No, but Verizon has an expensive approval process and they can (and do) keep phones off of their network. I don't blame OEM's that decide not to include it.

Have they kicked phones off their network before? I mean they can but under extraordinary circumstances like if it causes damage to their network.

Sucks for Verizon customers, they should become a GSM network already. Wonder how much work and money thatll cost them
Probably not much at this time as the general public in the usa still will buy carrier phones. This is true of gsm carriers in the usa

That's true, but a lot of phones offers GSM phones than CDMA. Verizon users are missing out on a lot of phones out there

That is true, because cdma costs more due to royalties. However Huawei was able to make a modem with cdma compatible technology but without using proprietary technology in the mate 9

Hi Guys I should have mentioned on here that I don't arrive at our Florida condo until next Sunday. My neighbor accepted the Fedex for me and is baby sitting until I arrive.
Will report how I make out with it.

Thanks for all the offers, will be sure to post if I need some help. Always found Android Central forums the best for specific help.

Probably will order a clear case as it is Gold so not sure I want to mix colors but if I did might be black.
They make this official honor case that I think you can still get from honors store and off Amazon. I ordered my new one from Amazon for only $2.99. It's as minimal as you can get and allows you not to cover up any part of the back of the phone. Only the four corners are protected. Here's a picture of it just in case you want to still show off the color of your honor.

Well Verizon is somewhat of a unique situation where in sure the phone would work with an active sim but Verizon won't activate a non verizon approved phone through its activation system online or calling or in stores. So they can't really advertise Verizon support without going through the Verizon approval process
Verizon is just too large and why they are set with CDMA I don't know. GSM seems to be the global standard. Most phones are set to run GSM over CDMA anyway. Is that Verizon being big headed or do they have a legitimate reason behind using CDMA?

They made this case in two colors I believe. One with silver corners like I have for my Pearl White honor 8 and one with blue corners and a blue hue for the sapphire blue honor 8. If you want something that simply does not add any bulk at all I suggest the one I pictured. Like I said it can be bought for $2.99 on Amazon but when you find it it show it to be an add on item. You have to go into the other sellers and there you will see one or two sellers selling it as a non add on item with the cheapest being $2.99 free shipping. The one I have now I had from a while back which was why I decided to order a new one and at only for $2.99

Here's the case I have and the one I just ordered again. It's made by honor especially for the honor 8. I like it bc you can't tell it's on there but still gives you protection. It allows you to totally be able to see your entire phone. This is a short one minute video of it.

I would guess that it is more to control devices on their network than a function of actual need for their phones at this point

You can bypass the add on requirement by ordering using alexa in the amazon music app

I don't know if I missed something but I don't see the clear option?

They're not clear cases. Incase OP wanted something beside clear cases, these look amazing and are well built cases for great amount of protection.
