New Honor 8 setup

I actually called Xfinity back to get more clarification on the $500 gift card and indeed I do qualify for it after all instead of what the original rep told me. So now knowing I'll receive $500 dollar gift card, I'm pretty confident that I'll get a phone as that will basically pay off most of the phone when it arrives. Pretty nice promotion but it only applies to new customers which the first rep failed to tell me which lead me to think I would not get it. After calling back now I know I definitely will get it so it's like $500 off the iPhone 8 which is huge and now plays a big factor in me following through with getting the iPhone 8. If I were to get a samasung I'd get an additional $200 dollar gift card to total $700. Tempting too but either way at minimum I will receive a $500 dollar gift card which I'll probably use towards the phone or I'll buy a iPad with it one which I need right now
Oh sweet! Glad that you were able to get the $500. That's huge!

No contract commitment to get that $500 gift card ?

That's how carriers get you. Free phone ? Sure, just gotta open a new line and commit to it for two years.
That is true but I would just open a line and let a friend use a line on my Verizon unlimited data plan, it's less than $35/mo per line.

Just a year commitment to the service of the internet and cable which is a year and the financing on the phone is for 24 months with only the taxes due upfront. So yes there is a commitment to get the $500 dollar gift card. I'm not sure of what type of commitment you have when you get the $200 dollar gift card for getting the Samsung phone. I know they take 90 days to come in but I've recently been watching comparisons between the iPhone 8 and the Note 8 on YouTube and I think I've now made my mind up that I'll go for the Note 8 which does mean I'll probably keep my honor 8 if I get Note 8. I just am not sure I can use a 6.3 inch phone as my daily driver. That said I still might get a refund on my honor 8 because that will give me $500 gift card, a $200 gift card and another $200 refund for my honor which is $900 dollars that would in fact totally pay off my Note 8 all together and hence lower my bill with Xfinity. Plus I truly think the Note 8 will keep a better resell value than the iPhone 8 due to the iPhone 10 being released now. Lastly I'm in need of a larger screen device for media and movies. I still have my Axon 7 mini in the case I feel like I want to scale back down to a smaller phone at times. Then I'm highly curious if I'll end up using the S pen as I've never owned a Note before. Overall the Note 8 has a lot more to offer me in terms of features than the iPhone 8 so these YouTube reviews have helped me to make a final decision so now I'm left with a hard decision whether to get a refund on my honor 8 which this is where I'm going to need you guys feedback. Should I keep my honor 8 or return it for a refund since now I'm most likely getting the Note 8. What do you guys think I should do? Please help because I'm torn quite a bit.

I think you should keep your honor 8

It'll be fine if you need a new line for someone. If not, the bogo isn't a great deal imo

Depends. How much is that one year commitment plan vs another plan? Can that $900 play a factor into saving more money at the end ?

Good point. Dconn needs to figure out the total cost over a year and see which option is best

Exactly. Once you calculate everything of cost over a year and see the difference between another plan. That big bucks can help a lot
