It says "automatically turn off data connection during long periods of inactivity."

If I enable this, will Wi-Fi be turned off even when "Keep Wi-Fi on during sleep" under "Advanced Wi-Fi" set to "Always?"

Originally I thought so, but I found that the Wi-Fi was never turned off during sleep using the above settings.

So Wi-Fi has its own policy and Sleep Mode only affects mobile data? Same thing for the Data Connection under Power Saver?

To me it would be nice if Sleep Mode and Power Saver can override Wi-Fi's policy.

Does anyone know how it really works? Thanks.

Only disables the mobile network. WiFi hardly uses any battery, which is why it isn't included

My Wi-Fi turns off during long periods of inactivity with this setting. Meaning after a half hour or so.

@dano_tech: How about yours?

So I got different answers here.... Any body else want to share your experience on this? And can someone confirm how this really works?

Thanks a lot.

How do you verify the wifi is on or off when the phone is in sleep?
If I wake it up to check it wouldn't be a valid test, yes?

Keeping wifi ON during sleep is just that...it keeps it active but not pulling/pushing data. Using power saver shuts off data connection and wifi BUT again, it just keeps it from pulling/pushing data after long periods of time.

Is there any way to get it to keep data moving? I use Aquamail, and I have it set to check my email every hour. I want it to actually check during the night too. I have "turn data connection off after long periods of inactivity" turned off, but I think it is doing it anyway because after having my phone in sleep mode for a while, when I wake it, there is a split second it doesn't have the LTE indicator at the top, and then it puts it up quickly, as if it were a child caught doing something it shouldn't have been doing. When I tell it not to turn the data off, I freakin' mean it.
