New icon on digital watch face

After the last update I noticed a new icon on my watch face; it looks like a watch/sun and shows up to the left of the date on the digital watch face. Anybody know what that is?

That icon stays even if you remove the date. Interesting that I didn't even notice it until now ...

No an orange dot is the notification indicator. I think whoever said it was a daylight savings time indicator was on to something.

i noticed that too, I thought maybe it meant you had an alarm set on the phone, but DST probably makes more sense

Pretty sure it's DST indicator. The same icon appeared on my Samsung tablet, only larger. Large enough to see that it's a sun with clock hands in it. Guess we'll know for sure in November.

Sorry I misunderstood when I read it because the orange dot came with the new update also.

I also noticed the same icon on my Samsung tab (but not my S6) so I think the guess about DST is right.

It's not on the lock screen, but it's on my home screen clock widget ...

Off topic, but would anyone happen to know why every digital watch face I send to my gear s2 is in 24 hour format instead of 12? I have checked every setting I can think of and nothing seems to fix the issue. This happens on watch faces from the main app shop and mr. time maker watch faces.

I'm pretty sure it syncs with the clock on your device. I would go into the date and time settings on your phone and make sure 24 format is unchecked ...
