New info on Verizon 4G $100 phone discount. Family Plan required.

im pretty sure that the NE2 is automatically applied to 2 year contract totals on vzw.com and at verizon stores, so it rings up cheaper than the stickers show, and then the coupon/promotion flyer discount can be applied after that.

However, thats just how I had been explained it would work. some of these front-line VZW reps that i have worked with arent the most-informed and I could be getting it completely wrong...

I received the $50 card today. Inside is a advertising ad booklet.
I called VZW today. Rep hadn't heard of it. She told me it was probably NE2 discount. She was guessing because next to the offer it says "STDNE2".

Kinda misleading if what she is saying is true.

I have been with Verizon for six years as the head of a family account. I didn't get a flyer. My contract with them expired in June. So, I've been due for an upgrade for almost six months.:-\

They were saying it's for people on 3g in 4g markets.. If that's the case can I add a line to day with a phone off contract and then try to get the 100 dollar discount?

Hmm, I don't think I've ever gotten a flyer from verizon, might ask my dad about it since the bill goes to his house. Mine is the primary number, haven't upgraded in well over 180 days (lol) and I've been a verizon customer since my first cell phone (which was only 5 1/2 years ago) so it seems like I *should* qualify. I'll have to ask when I call them tomorrow.

Like I said, not everyone's going to get one - you might just be in the wrong geography or something. And I assume you must mean some prior company because I don't think Verizon's even been around for 20 years.

I was curious, so I decided to look this up, the company has been around for almost 30 years (28 to be specific) but has only gone by the name 'verizon' for about 10 1/2 years. prior to that it was known as 'bell atlantic' as one of the companies that emerged from the breakup of bell (at&t) in 1983.

I've been with them since they became Verizon. My main line hasn't been upgraded in almost 3 years, but I bought a Charge for my mom on my family plan... I hope that doesn't pooch the deal. (I haven't received anything) I am running a 3g phone on my main line in a 4g market. I've got my family plan maxed out with 5 line, and ran a 6th for a bit.

When I bought a 4s for my wife, I don't think I was able to add the NE2 discount because I get a meager 12% discount, and they say we can't "Double Dip" on the discounts.

I look at the Living Social as being more of a gift card, than a discount. We better be able to stack those with any other deals. It's cash already paid. If they try to soak me, I'll sell it to someone in store.

I got the $30 mailer. I am the primary line on my family plan. I have not had an upgrade in 2 1/2 years. I got my Incredible off contract. I have been with Verizon for almost 10 years.

I did not get a flyer in the mail but did give a customer representative a call. I asked her about a 3G to 4g promotion and she knew what I was talking about and immediately said I was eligible and noted it on my account.

True and not just Bell Atlantic. Verizon actually came out of several smaller telco's coming together if I remember correctly. I've been with Verizon since they PrimeCo, since I was in high school in 1999.

just finished a chat with Verizonwireless. I told her I had heard about a $100 discount when purchasing a 4G phone. She said some are eligible. I asked her if I was, and she told me to go thru the checkout process and if it comes off the price, then I am. I asked her if I would get the loyalty discount as well and she said no. only one discount.
So I asked if it would show up if I purchased a phone at a Verizon store and she said yes, that it would automatically show up.
I asked when the Nexus was coming out and she said she had no information.
Then she asked me if I wanted her to complete the sale to see if I was eligible for the discount and I said no, I was going to wait for the Nexus. She says the promo may not be available by the time the nexus comes out. I said, that's ok. I'll take my chances.

I just tried calling CSR and vzw they said this coupon only applied to businesses in chicagoland area. She kept telling me she didnt know anything about it. but then finally found it and said "businesses only"

I am attempting to get it applied. I am in email conversations with a Customer service rep.

I am in chicago, and ive been a VZW customer for quite some time. Hopefully this will help me out. Will definitley reduce the sting of the $299 Galaxy Nexus charge!

It all depends on who you talk to. I called on Monday and they said that I did not qualify. I live in the Midwest and am eligible for an upgrade on the main line of a family plan. So, I figured that I would call again when the Nexus actually came out.
I called Wednesday and was on the phone with someone for about 30 mins. She finally decide that I qualified, kinda, and told me that she would order it for me and give me $50 off after my NE2.
I waited yesterday for confirmation of it being sent, at about 4 I called. The lady on Wednesday did not place the order. The CSR yesterday said without hesitation that I qualified and it would be $100 on top of my NE2. I made sure she noted it on my account and went to my local corporate store. The manager at the store told me that they would/could not discount 4G phones even with the note from the CSR.
I then had to call while at the store because the manager would not call to figure this out. He had the customer service skills of House. The CSR on the phone had to take $100 off my bill or order it for me. I opted for the $100 off the bill.

Im still trying to get it. I have not yet heard back from the CSR. but I have her supervisors number. so if i dont hear back...her supervisor is going to hear from me.
