I got a good deal on a used G2 and made the switch from my S3. I'm on Verizon, just swapped the sim and the new phone activated. I love this phone !!!

Few observations -
- LG's Optimus skin is lighter and more functional than TouchWiz, I don't really have any lag on the phone, which may be due to the fast SoC, but still.
- Verizon's version doesn't have the brightness and volume slider in notifications like I see other versions do. More real estate!
- Was happy with wireless charging, not so happy that it needs a different case

And a few questions -
- I read that there are other themes accessible via LG SmartWorld. I got that apk installed, but it needs an account to work. Are there any other benefits of an LG account?
- Also read that there's a G-Flex theme which is darker, I'd really prefer that. Any way to get that?
- Does the verizon G2 have dual loudspeakers? I noticed the ports on the bottom are different.

I really have no desire to root this right now, and will wait for the KitKat update before I decide. Any other tips for new G2 owners are welcome!

Wanted to add some info I found on the theme's.

LG's version has theme support in the launcher enabled (a plus). You can get LG Home themes which install as an apk from here - Just themes - xda-developers. I am using the KitKat theme which I like best, from here - xda-developers - View Single Post - [new themes] stock jelly bean vanilla and kitkat themes (and more!).

On other versions, you can enable theme support as described here - [Guide]LG launcher hidden settings - xda-developers

Hope this can help others.

On the Verizon G2 the speaker is on the bottom right. No dual speakers, but I don't think the other variants have them either.
