Received my new V30+ on Thursday. Set about installing the tempered glass screen protector i had pre-purchased and noticed a bubble in the top right quadrant. I couldn't smooth it out though. I thought maybe the screen protector was bad, but I removed it and it actually was fine. What I noticed is that screen has a valley over an inch long and because of it, he screen protector won't sit flat on the glass causing thay section to look like there is an air bubble underneath. I hit up T-Mobile and they told me I can return it for a regular V30 because they have no more V30+s available to them.

So I'm wondering if this might be because of LG's strategy with the V30S which is said to also have 128GB of storage but also 6GB of ram. I want this phone, but I also want to be able to protect it. I had a V20 and I'm pretty careful with my phones, but I did not immediately put a screen protector on it and ended up with a tiny phantom chip in the screen that was almost unnoticeable except for when your finger ran across it.

I already registered for the 2 year V30 promise so I guess I'm protected in that manner, but I wanted to see what everyone else's thoughts were. Bear in mind, I've had the Optimus G, G3, G4 and 2 V20s(different carriers). So I have no qualms with LG in general.

Oh, and my wife's V30+ came with a stripe of bad pixels down the screen (stuck white) so there's that I suppose, LOL. She got hers on Tuesday so I will be having her register with LG quick, fast, and in a hurry as well.

I got my from T-Mobile too. Nothing wrong on my side and yes they dropped V30+. Might as well exchange for regular V30, but won't be happy lol.

I'm so sorry you and your wife got V30's with defective screens! Will your carrier be getting any more in; or are they not going to continue getting V30+ models anymore?

Extra on board storage is almost pointless with there also being expandable storage. Really no good reason to get the V30+ over the standard model.

Internal storage from what I understand is faster. Some say it's more reliable, however I haven't had external fail on me.

I am happy with 64 but I'd pay extra for more internal. I have a 256gb external already. When you get close to the capacity of internal storage it slows the phone down noticeably.

Got my replacements today and I just noticed mine has the line down the center, LOL! Didn't notice until I got home and started to restore my data.

That's awful

I am a big LG fan. Despite suffering a failed G4, but as I said, I have had the Optimus G, G3, G4, V20 on Sprint and even repurchased the V20 when I moved to T-Mobile. But these V30+'s are beating me down. Quality control LG! Please.

Not sure how that might affect the bogo deal though. Wife is happy with her replacement so I don't want to make her go through this again.

I want to be an LG fan. I switched from Samsung after they sealed up their Note 5 and took away the removable battery giving me nothing to upgrade my Note Edge from.

So I got the V10. Bootloop after 4 months. Sold it and got V20 upon release. That phone was much better in terms of speed but does have hiccups way to often and weird glitches.

Got the gf upgraded from iPhone 7 to G6. It's been to repair twice now. Once for kernel error and another time for some USB power issue rendering it dead both times. Memory had to be replaced the first time and the second time they replaced the entire motherboard. Thankfully I had the V20 for her to use as a spare while it was out for repair, since it dropped in value so much that it wasn't worth selling it to me to only get $300, if that.

Got my V30 in January. It wouldn't fast charge. So I had to swap it out the next day having to fight the AT&T store who was trying to charge me a $45 restocking fee. I went to a different corporate store and got my replacement. V30 is much better than previous phones but there have been stutters during video recording, including the video that my friend recorded of my engagement proposal. And I had it in airplane mode just to avoid any interruptions or issues.

Now that the removable battery, IR blaster, and second display are gone, the only thing really keeping me with LG is the wide angle camera and the concert recording audio mic. But if I can't count on it to do that reliably, how what?

So, the ordeal ends. My wife's replacement V30+ was fine, but mine had a white stripe down the middle. I just got that one replaced today and it seems to be in good shape. I've never had this kind of bad luck with a device, ever! I hope LG's QC hasn't gone down the toilet.

Added screenshot so ya'll could see. Phone is in landscape and my brother took a picture of it with his phone.

The V30 was not designed to have a screen protector and LG isn't really responsible for anything in regards to 3rd party accessories. Some phones have small defects on the glass, such as warping and uneven surfaces. It's really hard to make a curved glass phone 100% flawless so there will be some slight warping in the glass, therefore glass screen protectors may not adhere correctly. Apple is smart and designed their phones to accept tempered glass screen protectors (probably because they know they get royalty fees from 3rd party manufacturers), and might be the only thing I like about Apple's design.

BTW I had 2 V20s and the first one didn't allow a glass protector to fully adhere but the 2nd one adhered 100%.

Yeah I can understand that, but that defect was like a 1½" long backwards "C" in the top right quadrant and once I noticed it, I couldn't unsee it. Also, if anything happened to the phone requiring warranty service, I did not want anyone trying to say I physically abused the phone and trying to deny me service.
