New Maxx HD owner with a question

If I use a third party text app like handcent is there a way to put that on the lockscreen instead of the factory texting icon. Thanks for any help

You can have handcent have a pop up over your locked screen. It won't replace it on your current lock screen. Getting a third party lock screen may allow what you want but I can't suggest one that will.

You could disable the stock texting app. That might remove it. I did the same with Snap camera app, I disabled the stock camera and the icon for the Snap camera app was in its place on the lockscreen

I use handcent ad made it my default text application in the settings.
It appears on my lock screen. I also set the notifications in Hancent and turned them off in the stock text application.
I didn't disable the stock app.

Disabling the stock app doesn't look possible.

Go SMS allows you to put it on the lock screen. In the settings of GO SMS you have to make it the default Text app and it becomes the lock screen icon.

Again, the button to disable is gray. It is not selectable.

I use Chomp and the way I got it to the Slide Lock Screen is to download Go SMS and Chomp (for you Handcent) and go into the setttings of Go SMS and tell it you want Handcent to be your default then check your Lock Screen it should show Handcent, after that just uninstall Go SMS.
