Hello all.
This morning I had no idea that I would be getting a new phone. I knew that I would be needing one soon, but I hadn't even decided on what type or which provider to go with.
I spent a bit of time on CNET to see what the latest reviews looked like and what plans seemed like the best bang for the buck. The only thing I was sure of, was that my decision would based almost entirely on my wallet.
Long story short, the Droid Razr Maxx is still very highly regarded and there was an impossible to resist deal on Amazon that I led me to click on it, and keep on clicking until I had signed up for a new two-year Verizon plan and received confirmation that my order was shipping today. So I expect my new phone to arrive by Tuesday. I couldn't stop there though. I started searching through Droid forums and wound up joining this one first.
I am now ready to Root the thing shortly after the unboxing. Why? Hell I don't know why! I got the cheapest available plan so I won't be getting online or even getting my email with the phone for at least six months (that's how long I have to keep the plan in order to get the great price). What I will be doing is filling a few micro sd cards with my music and enjoying tunes I have ripped to my laptop from CD in flac on the new Klipsch earphones I ordered late this afternoon.
I haven't given too much thought to a case yet, but that is coming. I know it.
Anyway, I am amped about it and even though I have a ton of questions, I am an old pro at forum etiquette so I will make liberal use of 'search' before I ask the members something without first trying to find the answer someplace among the archived threads.
