New Nexus 4 purchase: Anyone get a shipping notification or tracking number?

This is playing out exactly as I predicted:
The party line will be 'you should get it sent Monday, receive by Wednesday'
They'll keep up that until Wednesday and then use the Thanksgiving Holiday as an excuse why it should be shipped on Monday11/26. This gives them a week to hopefully get more inventory to fulfill the orders that they have. They have no more inventory. Anyone who thinks anything different should ask why they don't have their phone by now.

We'll get our phones the week of 11/26-11/30 and not before. I'm extremely confident that's how it will go down.

Conclusion. If you're in "limbo", you're going to get yours shipped by Monday.

If you got a backorder e-mail, you're going to have to wait for the next wave. (I got a backorder e-mail)

The CSRs are lying to everyone.....I think that much has been established. They are going to tell you whatever to keep that carrot dangling over you until they fix things or get more inventory...if Google actually gave two shats they would have sent out some sorta email or letter explaining the situation and let us know where we all stand. As you can see they have not...so everything and anything that does come directly from Google should be considered suspect...wait I just got another email from Google....order update on shipping...wait it says my Nexus 4 is still in Uranus...oh well

First time Android buyer....Bad experience....

Ordered 8:53:18 PST in Toronto....Received confirmation email 30 mins later...no shipping or back order email....Google wallet pending and Google play stated Shipping estimate Sep 15 UNTIL NOW......Received Shipping email just now...shipping from KY 11/16....will be delivered here by 11/21..... Google wallet now completed and Google play changed order to 11/17 and shipped....Guys...hang in there !!!
Hope for change.

I will be willing to bet that this categorically does NOT happen. They don't' have anything to send.

Then why do more people keep getting shipping e-mails every single day?

Because they oversold and they are no doubt shipping the accidental extras people had in their carts....my guess is as they come they ship....but I am willing to bet there is no more inventory other than the ones I mentioned....

This just illustrates how Google isn't processing orders correcty, drives me nuts.

Same here, 1st time Android buyer and user. Not a good experience. Pretty crazy. I ordered 18 minutes before this and nothing... except my order date changing to the 17th today. I did receive the confirmation email within minutes of ordering.

I mean, it's just a phone, life goes on, but pretty irritating how Google and possibly UPS have handled it. I've bought three different generations of iphones under magnitudes greater demand and while Apple and/or ATT websites crashed, if you got your confirmation, you got your phone shipped on time as promised. None of the "in limbo", no communication or days later notified your back ordered BS. It's pretty sad that arguably the worlds largest provider of internet services can't figure this out (after multiple prior fiasco's) while Apple and ATT with far less server resources can. Sadder will be if Google does ever respond or comment about it will be their gushing marketing spin of "how excited and proud we are for the demand our customers are showing" in completely non-answer, no fault admitted crap.

Just got off the phone with a CSR. I've been in limbo as well. Ordered around 10:30am on the 13th. CSR told me I would definitely be getting a shipping e-mail tonight, phone is not back ordered for me, and its just taking forever because of all the orders that were placed. We shall see ::sigh::
I was told the same thing by a supervisor this afternoon.

How is it?

It's got less ram and a slower cpu but I heard it's pretty solid. The screen is a tad higher ppi too, but I don't think it's high enough to notice a difference between it and the N4.

The screen is very nice. I had the Optimus G and the Lumia 920's screen is better when you compare them side-by-side but you wouldn't notice the difference if you weren't comparing them directly like that. The camera is fantastic. I love the UI concepts in Windows Phone and the consistency throughout the experience. It's just a shame there aren't more applications available for it. My biggest complaint is that there's no Swype... or third party keyboards of any kind. I originally got a Windows Phone last Spring during the "Smoked by Windows Phone" challenge. I had intended to force myself to use it for 30 days so I could familiarize myself with it before switching back to my MyTouch 4G. Well, that 30 days turned into 5 months because I really liked it. Eventually, I picked up the HTC One S but ended up leaving T-Mobile a little over a week ago because of their new data roaming caps. I got the Optimus G from AT&T but I HATE the crappy custom UI LG put on that thing. Today I exchanged it for the Lumia 920 and I will likely switch my SIM back and forth between this and the Nexus 4 depending on my mood. Heh.

So some of you are seriously getting pissed off for getting your phone 4 days after ordering and Google stating 3-5 before the sell out... I can understand those who got back-ordered being kinda upset, but only marginally we sold out, you can cancel at any time. I get that the site should've updated quicker saying sold out and stopped orders from coming in, but seriously? Oh, and for those of you in limbo, your device will ship next week at the latest.

I care not for the things you said....what I care about is the fact that I ordered the phone at 8:32am PST and I am still waiting with no update while people who ordered 30-120 minutes after me received their phones....I had no problem ordering it took me literally seconds to purchase the phone and less than 2 minutes to get an email confirmation....after that.....nada....yeah it is just a phone but I am sure if you were 20th in line of 21 people to get a phone and they only had 20 and they gave the last phone to the person standing in the 21st spot instead of you...you wouldn't be to happy...

Google never said, order first receive first. You're still within 3-5 days for processing and 2 day shipping, so unwad them and calm down dude. It's a phone. I ordered my N7 a month before it was even announced at I/O 2012 and didn't get it until 3 weeks after it was on the shelf at gamestop.

Why do people keep saying that...it clearly said Delivered in 3-5 business days. Tax and shipping will be calculated at checkout. It does not say 3-5 for processing and 2 day for shipping...it is 3-5 is when you will get your phone....shipped Monday equals Weds deliver with 2 day...which is the 6th day....and it is common sense first ordered first processed...give me a break...

The confirmation email stated delivery in 3-5 business days, correct. So, therefore, they have until Tuesday at the latest depending on how you interpret the Tuesday itself. That includes processing time. But, that doesn't excuse them for out-of-order processing / shipping of orders, period. It is illogical at best, incompetent at worst.

They never did say order first receive first but they "should" have done it in the order received.. They DID say the phones would start shipping the same day they went on sale though.. which didn't happen. Order page says Delivered in 3-5 days

Either way champ, 5 business days from order would place your phone to you on Tuesday. That one extra day must be killing you.
