Do think the new Nexus (either the LG or Huawei) will be sold unlocked for Verizon and be sold directly to the consumer like the Moto X pure edition? And will it be available on Verizon immediately or will they make us wait again like with the Nexus 6?

I don't see why not. I also doubt any delays. Most sites reported that the nexus 6 was delayed due to issues with Verizon's VoLTE calling.

Here's hoping for smooth sailing.

Also wanted to add the nexus 5 was a huge success in terms of sales (for google)compared to the nexus 6. Seeing as how there will be a new nexus 5 this year I doubt Verizon will want to miss out on that

Interesting comparison... since the Moto X Pure Edition was not built for Verizon.... the Pure Edition Moto X was only built to run on GSM networks, and did not carry all the Verizon LTE bands.

I recently left Verizon after a number of years... and I do have a few gripes and bias against them... but personally, I'd only give it a 50/50 chance that Verizon will get one of these... there have been a number of times in the past that Verizon did pass on the Nexus line.

VZ sold the Nexus 6 months after it was released. Nexus launches have always been a disaster, no reason to expect this year to be any different.

But now there is a history of letting compatible unlocked phones on their network.. Hopefully it's different

that's actually a really good point, I hope you're right.

I have my Nexus 4 on T-Mobile, S4 on Verizon. I'm looking forward to hopefully being able to use my next two phones (Pure/Nexus) both on VZ.

Even if they don't offer it at launch, just like last year with the Nexus 6, as long as I can buy it on the Play Store and put in my own SIM I'll be happy.

I'm really hoping the new Nexus 5 comes to Verizon the same way the new Moto X Pure Edition. Just buy the phone online and pop in a VZW SIM. I'm going to hold off on buying the Moto X to see if this does come to Verizon.
