New Nexus?

I don't care who makes the next Nexus. Just give me one on Verizon that will actually get updates (hello Google, please thump the slow red one over the head with a baseball bat). And, pretty please, how about a screen that is sort of visible outside in sunlight? A few of us leave buildings now and then.

An Asus phone? The only experience I have had with asus stuff is my N7, and a friends TF-700. I love them both. Id buy one instantly.

Aside from them I would like Moto, Sony, or HTC. I dont have any experience with Sony but I think their stuff looks cool. HTC and Moto have won me over with their build quality.

One more thing, I wish I didn't enjoy Verizon's service so much. I would love to drop them for someone that pushes updates faster but I like having great service and 4GLTE everywhere I go. They need to speed up the updates.

Sony TX
4.6in Screen
127g
.33in thin
Take all the above into a Nexus and I am sold . I have been HTC fan for 4 years but since the Sony Arc my eyes have been on Sony. The Xperia TX design as been by far nicest looking devices I have seen IMO.

After my Epic Touch, I won't buy Samsung again. Eff them.

Same here... GNex (GSM)... piss poor radio and GPS performance... Samsung can suck it

Its HTC or Sony's turn. Personally I would love to have a HTC device that is running stock Android.

So with the success of the Galaxy Nexus and the fact that the rumors state multiple devices with the Nexus name what hardware partner do you think will create our newest device?

;)

in your signature area it says from "Sent from my Nexus by HTC A967 using Tapatalk" but a quick google search yeilds no results for HTC A967. It actually pulls up HTC and Sony...you hinting at something panda man?

+1 for a Sony Nexus (xperia Nexus? ) that would be awesome

More important to me than who makes it is how much it costs and where it is available. With all the iPhone 5 and Lumia 920 hysteria, I'm really ready for a new Nexus (I've had the GNex since December). While I'm willing to import it for $700, I would really prefer not to...and would prefer a Google warranty as opposed to going through the importer. That is, I'm hoping it's released on the Play Store immediately like the Nexus 7 was. I am somewhat less confident that this will happen though due to carrier intervention.

Beyond that though, what do you guys think about pricing? The clear goal with the N7 was to price at cost and the GNex has been dropping in price on the Play Store pretty consistently. I figure no matter what, Google will keep the GNex on the Play Store as an affordable option (whether it stays $350 or perhaps drops a bit further). But will Google price the new one on the same level as the iPhone 5/Lumia 920 (somewhere around $600-$700) or will they undercut a bit to try to grab what little attention among the average consumer it can away from the iPhone 5? Personally I'm hoping for at least $100 below the unlocked, off-contract iPhone 5 price...not just for my own financial reasons, but also for the good of the Nexus brand.

Edit: Fwiw, my top manufacturer choice is HTC. It will always be HTC. Has been for years. Premium feel, solid build quality, beautiful screens, top of the line camera tech. No other Android OEM matches it in a holistic sense...but if not HTC, I'd go for Sony. I'm sick to death of cheap feeling devices (Nexus S, Galaxy Nexus, Nexus 7).

LG has long been rumored to make some sort of nexus. But I worry about LG gps quality based off of sucky g2x gps. Hopefully the newer glonass/gps receivers are better. They also have yet to show awesomeness in their cameras. Samsung is still very good at cameras in smartphones. Would be cool to see a Sony nexus. But I'm thinking Sony might have too large an ego to make a nexus. They would most likely have good imaging. So it goes back to HTC or Samsung. Motorola is iffy based on Google insisting they will be hands off with Moto. What we need to make a nexus sell like hotcakes is a great camera and good battery life, like 2 days, along with a 720p screen. Maybe I'm just dreaming :-P

Not dreaming - I think those requirements are pretty reasonable in light of where cell phone technology is going. Motorola is no longer iffy. Google will be running the show, no doubt about that despite what they say. I think we'll be seeing some really great stuff out of Motorola next year.

Dream team build for the next Nexus (if we could only have one):

Design - HTC
Radios - Motorola
Screen - LG
Camera - Samsung (SIII camera, not the GNEX camera)
Battery life/technology - LG and Motorola need to make a baby and have that produce the battery.

Then at least a 1.5ghz dual core processor and 2gb ram. Needs at least 32gb storage (lack of SD card doesn't bother me), maybe a mini HDMI, if not at least MHL. Missing anything?

The second half of next year we should see some Google inspired Moto phones. Not the first half

Oh and please no Verizon Nexus this time.

Agreed. Sony should be the only one allowed to touch the next nexus.

I agree with you, but I wouldn't mind a variety of Nexus pohones from different manufactures. I really hope that Google strikes with something good. I've been holding my upgrade for almost two years waiting for the right phone. I really like Sony, but let's just hope for the best.

Sorry but I need a Verizon nexus. Not leaving the best network.

I would love to see an HTC Nexus on Verizon that I can buy from the Play Store.

I have to stay with Verizon because I have my mom and sister are on my family share plan, and Verizon is the only company that gets coverage where they live. Also I can't drop my unlimited data because they both use a ton of data each month. I still have my Thunderbolt and I getting ready for a new phone. I know I can't get a subsidized phone and keep my plan so I am hoping there will be some other way for me to get a new phone.

I just wish a date would be set for when we can expect to hear about the new Nexus. I also wouldn't mind some leaks to get the media involved to increase awareness.

No kidding. Also, being on Sprint as carrier, I want to know if the Nexus line will be released for CDMA/Sprint at near announcement time, or six months later, like they have in the last two iterations.

Im hoping a few hardware partners each get to give their view of how Android should be. Samsung, HTC, Motorola, maybe LG or Sony.

Also would love to see some tablet hardware.

Edit: Just noticed BMX's post was sent by his Nexus by HTC....is that a hint? :P

It's probably just a Nexus One.

The release date will probably be November 5, since that's Android's 5th anniversary.
