NEW (Official) EVO Froyo OTA update thread

My download went smooth. Had one issue so far where I was using google Listen and was playing with the camera settings when the phone crashed and rebooted.

Hopefully it's just a one time occurrence. I'm really liking the speed.

It appears our days of free teetering over 4g is gone. It will not maintain a 4g connection when it turn on the hotspot feature.

WOW! the difference in watching movies is amazing, there is NO LAG at all for me when fast forwarding or rewinding and before there was. It never bothered me, but I noticed it because I actually watch tons of movies on the EVO.

Just finished downloading.. My overclock widget isnt working anymore so im guessing it broke my root.. Does anyone know if i can just open the unrevoked app i have and click start to root it again???

What i cant just move current apps over to SD Card?
Or do I have to wait till the apps get updated with that option.

What version of 10.1 does your have? The .6 update vs. the .3. Wondering if there is a difference because the scrolling in the browser in the manual .3 update is slow.

I have .6 On fox.com and harleydavidson.com the scolling was slightly choppy but good enough.

I think the Chrome to Android is awesome already. I've used it three times to send directions to my phone for directions. (Google Maps > get directions > send to phone > open phone > pull down notification bar > tap directions and boom opens Google Navigation with everything set. Looking for a phone number on your web browser? Just highlight the phone number and hit send to phone > unlock phone > pull notification bar > tap notification > opens dialer with number already there. There's SO many situations that I've already used it in this weekend already. The potential is awesome. It can send ANY link to your phone.

Settings > Applications > Manage Apps > All > open one by one and just tap move to SD card. Not all will work though. Those will have to be updated

The update allows my PPTP vpn to work using Sprint's hotspot feature (extra charge version), which is sweet.

Looks like the gmail app has to resync its data and resets the list of labels to sync.

Manage Applications
LONG HOLD on application and release. If it supports moving to the SD card, the option will be available on the next screen.

Tried the file listed in a previous post to get to .6 from the manual .3. It failed with "Error in /sdcard/update.zip". I guess I'll need to wait for HTC.
