New OTA impact thread - please report in

Any way to shortcut to this page? Menu>Settings>Wireless & Networks>Mobile Networks>Network mode
so we dont' have to go through all those steps just to toggle between 3g and 4g

If you add Widget - Settings - Data Dashboard you save a few clicks but then you had 5 icon widget to a screen.

I rebooted my phone this morning now i'm stuck on the Thunderbolt splash screen for 30 minutes now. It didn't take 30 minutes to get to the homescreen before the update. WTF!!

Since the Skype with video apk doesn't work on the Thunderbolt after the official MR2 OTA update, I just downloaded the Skype app from the market and installed it. Works fine (with the exception of no video obviously since it's not supported yet), but there is a little quirk with the app. My Skype icon in the notification bar now says "Reconnecting" all the time, but when I go into the app, it's still connected. Looks like a glitch with the app and notification system after the OTA update.
I'll be checking for any more bugs as I play with the TBolt some more today, but so far so good. Like I said in another thread, can't wait to see what GB brings!

Initial impressions - slight speed increase
Reboots - I didn't get many originally, but haven't noticed any at all since the update.
Reliable data connection - My data connection works great, as well as the toggle between 4/3G
Battery life - I haven't given it a full days use yet, however I believe a slight increase.
New issues - Not an issue but new 3G icon. Changed my ringtones up to a "2 step" ringtone.
New features - bloatware galore
Mobile Hotspot - Never used the free, so no clue.

Not a bad update, but sure wish it was Gingerbread. I feel root coming in my future.

I am in a strictly LTE area, For the last 10 days since I have owned this phone it has never left 4G, always on 4G. Since the OTA update last night my phone is switching from 1x to 3G which it never has before. I am pissed off. I held off on rooting this thing for hopes on getting Gingerbread with the update. This thing is getting rooted today and a new rom is being installed.

Have you tried a battery pull? Most people had similar issues and I know for myself I was locked into 3g for a few hours until I reseated my SIM card and did a battery pull obviously with doing that. Soon as I turned back on I went into wifi / airplane mode then back to normal and 4g turned right on.

No Fast Load option under applications, but seems to be the default now when rebooting or restarting.

Still unable to download the new OTA. Every time I press "Check new" in software update, the box comes up that it's looking for new software, then it just disappears after a few seconds. I've tried restarting the phone four time between last night and this morning, and it still does this.

To make matters worse, I saw in another topic that someone that lives in the same city as me has gotten the OTA last night, so I can't imagine it just hasn't been pushed to my area yet. And when the MR1 update was pushed out, I was able to find it right away when I hit "check new", not more than an hour or two after it was released. So why am I having this problem with MR2? :/

Anyway, I haven't had a chance to read through this topic, but I'm curious if this update will remedy my two biggest problems with the Thunderbolt. That is, for one, frequently, when I turn my phone on, the data connection will get stuck in 1X (despite me being in a 4G area), and I have to use LTE OnOff to force it into 3G-only (and the only way I can get 4G is either by waiting 5-6 hours and setting the phone back to 4G mode, or by restarting the phone, which eats up 15-20% of the battery).

My other issue is the erratic battery drain. I have the extended battery, and this past Monday, I had the phone on for about 7 hours, with some Internet browsing, checking mail, playing around on the app store, and my battery was down to 65% by the time I turned it off. I charged it, and then, with the same usage the next day, I was only down to 85%; I didn't charge it again, as 85% is still high, and with the same usage for a third day, that brought me down to 64%. So, I don't understand how, with the same usage, the battery could drain 35-ish percent in one day, but then drain that much in two days after charging.

Mine did too, on 3G it stopped, on wi-fi it looked like it was re-connecting. After a re-boot it was ok on wi-fi.

Still stuck on the Tbolt flash screen for 1 hour now since i rebooted the phone. I'm not rooted, just stock. This is some bull$hit. F-ck that update..

Not getting it... Check for update message.. Then just goes away... Got the error message one time... But the rest just went blank... 2 restarts and a batt pull... Still nothing. The phone was off when I got up this morning. But pretty sure batt just died.. Does anyone have a screenshot of their software Info screen before and after...
